Mine is at customs, going to pay 25% bonus to our goverment :frowning:

Pretty sure YYR mark it as like 2,200Y though, so assuming itā€™s the same there it should cost you barely anything. They donā€™t include a receipt in the box, so customs have no way to know.

Well, they just unpack it and send you letter and you have to prove whats is inside and how much you paid.

25% seems a bit excessive!

Yuki

My Mr. Butcher and Fragment arrived today (well, they didnā€™t arrive, but I did go to the Post Office to pick them up). So far Iā€™m very happy with both of them and can see myself throwing the Fragment as an EDC yoyo.

On a side note, I think the idea of paying a 25% customs fee is pretty ridiculous. Is the Postal Service in the Czech Republic so incredible that the actually need 25% of the value of your package just to get your items to you and others? I canā€™t imagine a Postal Service needing that high a percentage of anything to continue functioning!

Love my Fragment and Uragment. Really regretting not picking up another Fragment while they were available. Such a nice shape, size, that D bearing, just perfect.

Also customs fees usually have less to do with funding postal operations and more to do with promoting local businesses and discouraging cheap imports as well as collecting taxes that were otherwise avoided in the sales and manufacturing process such as VAT.

Iā€™ve been meaning to ask you, Nathan, how do the Fragment and Uragment compare?

Yuki

I know a few people have asked and i keep meaning to try and write something out, but iā€™m really bad at reviews. I think i prefer the Uragment, itā€™s just that little bit faster and lighter, although on first throw the Fragment did feel lighter, but the scale and extended plays confirms the Uragmentā€™s about a gram or so lighter.

Edit: Just played them back to back for a while. Yeah, so theyā€™re super similar, but the Uragment plays just a hint lighter. Both feel solid though, not light and flimsy like the specs might suggest. Iā€™d be curious to do a blind test and see if i could tell on first throw which is which. At the moment the Fragment bearing is a hint loud and dirty, so even that could be part of the difference i experience between them. Eventually iā€™ll get the guts to crack the Fragment open and clean the bearing and then do a blind test. But for now iā€™d say Uragment = light and fast, Fragment = a hint more solid, and a touch less quick. Either one is amazing though. So in love with that shape. It seems super unusual, but wow i find it so comfortable, and the whole thing being catch zone makes it so nice for chopsticks and other tricks where the yoyo needs to cut between close string segments - itā€™s just effortless. I think my dream yoyo would be the Fragment shape, D-bearing, 62g, 53.5mm diameter, titanium, ah that would be so nice.

Also i LOVE D-bearings. Really want to see them make a bit of a comeback. I think i own all the YYR D-bearing throws and love every one. The 6 is probably the most conventional, but still has just that extra bit of speed and feel to it. Anyone who hasnā€™t played a D-bearing yoyo should try one.

Edit II: Ryota described the Draupnir on Twitter as a blend of the Overdrive and Fragment, with the size of a Sleipnir, and i think thatā€™s pretty accurate, and probably why i like it so much. Fragment quickness, nice float and stability of the Overdrive, just such a nice package.

Dang, anyone checked the USD/JPY lately? All the way down to 94. Glad we all loaded up when we did. Draupnir alone is $11 more now than when i bought it last week. Had almost even convinced myself to get a Dazzler but at current prices it would cost over $550 to get it to my door, so thatā€™s not gonna happen. Sigh.

Agreed.
I Love D Bearingsā€¦ With a passion

Well you have to pay local sales tax(21%) which goes to goverment. About 4% is for post office. But I was lucky and YYR come though without taxes

My red Fragment and black Fragment with Aeronaut for friend arrived today.

well customs has seized my package

lol @ seized. You must live in the midwest or west, they always end up at customs when they come through Chicago it seems. Itā€™ll be on its way in a day or two. Itā€™s not seized.

it says seized last time this happened my package was in san francisco for 12 days

I got my Mr. Butcher yesterday morning! It was in Chicago customs but for only about a day, and arrived within 3 business days later, I live less then an hour north of Chicago.

Iā€™m loving the Butcher, so nimble, yet still solid feeling.

Ahhh those Fragments look really nice! Iā€™m kinda happy that they are OOS from the sale because I might be tempted. Also, going against my preferences they are so small and angular. Would love to try one, though.

My Attune is getting blasted and anodized. Iā€™ll have to post up a pic when it gets back to me safely. (Iā€™m nervous about it being at the mercy of the postal system for so many mailings)

The Mr. Butcher is an absolute beast!! I like everything about it. The weight is perfect, the body is rounded, and the design is stunning.

Got my e=mc2 today and I love it! I love the shape and feel. Just wish it was a little bigger. Any recommendations?

Kinda surprised YYR never made a larger version of the e=mc2. Nothing really with the same shape and weight distribution. If you want bigger and still solid feeling I would suggest the Z-on.

Not quite the same shape, but the Stargeyser plays similarly to the E=mc^2.

That red Fragment is drop dead gorgeous!
