Pretty sure YYR mark it as like 2,200Y though, so assuming it’s the same there it should cost you barely anything. They don’t include a receipt in the box, so customs have no way to know.
My Mr. Butcher and Fragment arrived today (well, they didn’t arrive, but I did go to the Post Office to pick them up). So far I’m very happy with both of them and can see myself throwing the Fragment as an EDC yoyo.
On a side note, I think the idea of paying a 25% customs fee is pretty ridiculous. Is the Postal Service in the Czech Republic so incredible that the actually need 25% of the value of your package just to get your items to you and others? I can’t imagine a Postal Service needing that high a percentage of anything to continue functioning!
Love my Fragment and Uragment. Really regretting not picking up another Fragment while they were available. Such a nice shape, size, that D bearing, just perfect.
Also customs fees usually have less to do with funding postal operations and more to do with promoting local businesses and discouraging cheap imports as well as collecting taxes that were otherwise avoided in the sales and manufacturing process such as VAT.
I know a few people have asked and i keep meaning to try and write something out, but i’m really bad at reviews. I think i prefer the Uragment, it’s just that little bit faster and lighter, although on first throw the Fragment did feel lighter, but the scale and extended plays confirms the Uragment’s about a gram or so lighter.
Edit: Just played them back to back for a while. Yeah, so they’re super similar, but the Uragment plays just a hint lighter. Both feel solid though, not light and flimsy like the specs might suggest. I’d be curious to do a blind test and see if i could tell on first throw which is which. At the moment the Fragment bearing is a hint loud and dirty, so even that could be part of the difference i experience between them. Eventually i’ll get the guts to crack the Fragment open and clean the bearing and then do a blind test. But for now i’d say Uragment = light and fast, Fragment = a hint more solid, and a touch less quick. Either one is amazing though. So in love with that shape. It seems super unusual, but wow i find it so comfortable, and the whole thing being catch zone makes it so nice for chopsticks and other tricks where the yoyo needs to cut between close string segments - it’s just effortless. I think my dream yoyo would be the Fragment shape, D-bearing, 62g, 53.5mm diameter, titanium, ah that would be so nice.
Also i LOVE D-bearings. Really want to see them make a bit of a comeback. I think i own all the YYR D-bearing throws and love every one. The 6 is probably the most conventional, but still has just that extra bit of speed and feel to it. Anyone who hasn’t played a D-bearing yoyo should try one.
Edit II: Ryota described the Draupnir on Twitter as a blend of the Overdrive and Fragment, with the size of a Sleipnir, and i think that’s pretty accurate, and probably why i like it so much. Fragment quickness, nice float and stability of the Overdrive, just such a nice package.
Dang, anyone checked the USD/JPY lately? All the way down to 94. Glad we all loaded up when we did. Draupnir alone is $11 more now than when i bought it last week. Had almost even convinced myself to get a Dazzler but at current prices it would cost over $550 to get it to my door, so that’s not gonna happen. Sigh.
lol @ seized. You must live in the midwest or west, they always end up at customs when they come through Chicago it seems. It’ll be on its way in a day or two. It’s not seized.
I got my Mr. Butcher yesterday morning! It was in Chicago customs but for only about a day, and arrived within 3 business days later, I live less then an hour north of Chicago.
Ahhh those Fragments look really nice! I’m kinda happy that they are OOS from the sale because I might be tempted. Also, going against my preferences they are so small and angular. Would love to try one, though.
My Attune is getting blasted and anodized. I’ll have to post up a pic when it gets back to me safely. (I’m nervous about it being at the mercy of the postal system for so many mailings)
Kinda surprised YYR never made a larger version of the e=mc2. Nothing really with the same shape and weight distribution. If you want bigger and still solid feeling I would suggest the Z-on.
