Better hurry up and buy and stop arguing about non-issues then because they’re selling out quick. Why would i buy my yoyos based on status? Even at $150 i was happy to pay the prices because they’re still a better deal than plenty of companies, i didn’t amass most of my YYR collection until recently, so i’m not sure how i’m a fanboy. Head on over the the CLYW and General Yo threads if you want to see real hype and fanboys, you won’t find too much of it here.
Comparing Magic-Yo to yoyoRecreation is just ridiculous. Please do not do so. Beyond the fact that a Magic-Yo can spin; there is no comparison. Dreaming up some price/value comparison will not in any way equate the two.
I think all of this “stupidity” is coming from one source here. It is the person who implied that we, or anybody buys YYR because of some perceived exclusivity or status. That is not why we buy YYR. We buy YYR because they consistently make the finest yo-yo’s on the face of the Earth.
The only complaints that have been voiced by me or others; has been about the tumultuous pricing of these throws over the last year. Complaints about price, or the manner in which they are sold; is no reflection of our opinion of the only important aspect of YYR: The play.
Now that these are available for lower prices, the forum members are right; grab them while you can. They are exquisite.
I don’t think 99% of those who frequently post in this thread care one bit about the previous exclusivity of YYR, but I can guarantee that many people have lusted after, searched for, and purchased YYR solely based on their status as “unattainable objects” by much of the Western World. The same can be said for any Titanium, Magnesium, or super-limited release yoyo (Bip-Bop, anyone?).
I actually get a lot of pleasure out of reading this thread each day without seeing anyone gush over the exclusivity of YYR’s yoyos. Here, it is really just about play and quality, not run numbers of rarity of colorway. Hooray!
You definitely don’t have to stop posting, but you do have to stop worrying, for your own sake! I’m willing to be everything I’ve got that your YYR order will show up before you expect it to and that everything will be just fine.
No need to stop posting. In fact, I encourage you to post as much as possible! Just try not to worry so much about whether or not your parcel is on its way or not.
It would damage their sales, only if Rolls Royce/YYR put newest models on sale for long time, not this case. We see company getting rid of old models in really short time. Two months from now most people will have no idea there were any sales, they will just see new models and old stock in some shops. Even now when somebody is not following YYR he has no idea there is something happening.
But I dont even know, why are you guys talking about it so much. YYR will keep making great yo-yos for high price, now you just get opportunity to get twice of them as normal. And many people will get their first YYR.
If your friends will not be jealous on you just because you bought high-performance yo-yo just for 75$, dont care about them or get better friends.
Forgive me for diverging from the topic of YYR’s recent 50% off sales and forgive me if this is an obvious question that’s been answered before, but with the introduction of the Draupnir and Shinya’s leave, what’s going to happen to the Sleipnir? Or rather what do you guys think will happen to it?
Afaik all of their current sig throws are getting discontinued, hence the sales, or at least postponed while they focus on new ones. Everything i’ve read says buy them now if you want them.
Thats beautiful i wanted a blue one so bad but they sold out so i got a gold gleipnir and a pink dreadnought and im doeing the tracking is broken or something though how long does it normally take for them to make it to the IS anyone?
Krowns are actually only 160 at a certain store in Japan. I remember people saying they were going to be retailing super high but that seems about right.
They were listed in Yen as 16,900 or something(which is like $172), but yeah C3 is from HK so the price in Yen doesn’t matter as much a with Japanese companies i suppose. Still higher than i had expected, but for a 7075 yoyo made in HK when pretty much all of their other models are made in China it’s probably reasonable. Would have been an instant buy for me at $135 and below though, but for $160 i’d rather save that money and put it towards new YYRs as they drop(c’mon baby Draupnir).
