The trigger hath been pulled. Box ordered. Just when most of my YYR have been sold off. The dollar/yen has been looking mighty healthy, have a little paypal on deck, keep checking the YYR source daily, and it’s such a killer deal, so…
Rolling the dice for a Fragment, Overdrive, and Mr. Butcher.
But to be honest I’m looking forward to being surprised… unless it’s like 3x Diffusions or something (it wouldn’t be that, right?!.. Diffusions are great and all, but…).
I’m pretty sure if they start sending out Diffusions, nobody’s ever buying another mystery box again. Hoping for something I don’t have yet. Doubt it’ll happen, but an Acrophobia would be lovely.
Even worse would be 2 bearing and a pack of string, hehe.
But really I suppose it’s what they have extra stock of. It’d be cool to get the new Overdrive version, but that’s probably not going to be in the mix. Maybe I’ll see a Dreadnought G, Fragment, and Sleipnir. Whichever way you slice it, it’s a fantastic deal.
How long does it take to ship? I’d rather save money and buy from the b/s/t when it gets flooded w/ mystery box loots. The way I see it, its better I pay 95 each for the throws I want than blindly gamble my 205 for what could possibly be an undersized or oversized or a brick of a throw (69+grams) throw. The odds are against my preferences
The shipping is extremely quick; from Japan, anyways. Mine was received by the Japanese post office and arrived in Chicago in less than 2 days. But then it was stuck in customs for nearly a week.
Anyone have any knowledge about the ‘vibe disclaimer’? I mean, if companies like CLYW and YYF can make a 7075 throw that doesn’t vibe when you unscrew it (in some cases), why can’t YYR? What with their engineering and machining prowess.
Now I have little knowledge of the machining of yoyos, but I would imagine that if they didn’t have such tight bearing seats, there’d be much less vibe. You really shouldn’t have to crank the thing to get it apart - there’s no way that it’s beneficial to the structural integrity.
