I bought a Sleipnir a couple of weeks ago, and two days after I paid for it the A- mystery box came out for less than what I paid for the new Sleipnir. Last night I see the 3 regular grade YYR’s for 200 that comes with one special color and had to jump on it. I ordered it and then sent them an email just to make sure they aren’t A- grades. I hope I don’t get a Diffusion as one of the 3.
lol no Diffusions, and yeah i’ll guarantee they’re A grades. They were very clear about the A- grades, and every other round has been 3 perfect throws for the same 20,000Y price, so no reason to expect different. You probably won’t get an email back from Ryota or Kengo for a week or so anyway what with them being busy getting ready for Japan Nats and shipping.
Stopped by local yo-yo store to try few Yoyorecreations they sell.
Blink - Definitly my most favorite, ideal specs for me and overal awesome yo-yo
E-mc2 - feels to heavy and not as agile compared to Blink
Fragment - really unique and great yo-yo, just maybe too sharp design for me?
Drednaught - simply too big
Mr. Buther. Quite heavy, but great feel, really different from other YYR
To sum it up, YYR are simply amazing yo-yos, with Turining point for me top two companies in the world.
Now there’s a phrase I never thought I’d hear. I don’t think a single shop in the UK even sells crappy cheap plastic yoyos anymore, let alone YYRs… and the fact that they let you try them as well… you lucky lad!
Well, we have two big shops focusing just on yo-yos in Prague(even though one of them lately get also into kendamas and discgolf, but started as pure yo-yo shop). They have all major brands in stock, so it’s really easy to try almost anything here.
They are run by famous guys(Kroutil brothers, Jan Kordovsky) and luckily all of them are my friends.
I think Czech yo-yo market is biggest in Europe(maybe just Russia is bigger) and demand is still growing.
Please disclose to people that you got your Blink as an A- grade from YYR…
I was really hoping YYR wouldn’t include any engraved models in the A- boxes because it’s visually impossible to tell them apart most of the time. Even if it plays perfect to you, there’s a reason YYR decided to sell it as less than perfect, and not disclosing that is unethical imo. Also let’s not forget it’s a $60 yoyo you’re trying to sell for $135… :-\ Really worried about what these engraved A- throws are going to do to the secondary market tbh, even a box doesn’t mean anything because they’re all pretty much the same and can be switched around.
Just the way it is. Also PayPal will add an extra few % just because they use a slightly lower exchange rate. All in all expect to add 3-5% total on the purchase. Just the hassle of exchange rates.
I just updated my bst so my buyer knows that is A-grade. But lets not forget that we still don’t know what A- grade is. None of my yoyos that I received had any flaws or inconsistencies. Yoyorecreation has not told anyone what A- means either. I am certain they are not B-Grade models because Japan companies usually call them Outlet models. All we know for certain is that the A-luckybox was 20$ less than the normal one. My theory is that it is called A- because they don’t include a special edition model like in the normal Luckybox. Thats why its 20$ less. And also the deal that Yoyorecreation is offering is a package deal meaning if you buy all 3, it is cheaper. Just because i got it this way does not make it any less of an expensive throw. Please dont judge me for pricing it as high as i did. I mean that didnt stop you for selling me a 6 for 95$ even though you got it for 60$.
Could have sworn the A- description pretty clearly stated vibe or ano flaws as far as i remember. Also the 6 i sold you was a perfect model mint in box and cost me closer to $72+shipping to you, so yeah. Also i bought a B grade Acro from a Japanese yoyo store and got an A- Acro from YYR and both are identical in play, looks, and packaging, so as far as i’m concerned A- and B are different names for the same thing. Either way it’s not up to us to decide whether a model is A- or not, they sold it as such and selling it without mentioning the provenance is wrong. Also judging by some of the mystery box throws i’ve seen including my own, i can say with certainty they weren’t just regular models, they were definitely deemed flawed in some way, just hard to say why in some cases such as yours. Anyway glad you updated your B/S/T, hope everyone else does the same should they ever sell or trade theirs. Last thing we want are lower grade YYRs entering the market as A+'s and creating bad perceptions of a wonderful brand.
Hopefully they will still be in stock by then! Knowing there is going to be 1 special colorway in these mystery boxes I am hoping for a Samm Scott E=mc2 or a Fragment. Id be happy with anything that isn’t undersized…Really excited for these to be shipped. I’ll make a Unboxing video for all of my fellow YYR addicts
