I heard that retailer doesn’t carry YYR because YYR was upset with the negativity their brand was getting from that retailer’s disclaimer on vibe associated with their product. I have no idea if that is accurate.
I just noticed the release of the slasher. Anybody try one out? Looks more towards the organic shape than the new trending V shape.
Rewind is owned by Shinya Kido who left YYR (and his brother) and won’t carry their products. Supposedly they got in a fight. (Take that with a grain of salt.)
… “A grain of salt”. I have wondered about that. It seemed a staged “acrimonious” parting. Both seem such gifted individuals in their own right. I think they might have realized that they are like a conglomerate. There is more value in the parts than as a whole.
I LOVE my Draupnir. I also LOVE my Berserker SS; for it’s different - but equal play. Coincidence? ???
I decided to buy one. It would appear that I must have bought the last “Teddy Loid” Edition because they were Sold Out after I bought mine.
It really is an amazing Bi-Metal YoYo, which would seem to be very inspired by the Anglam. It definitely feels very similar to the Anglam, but certainly has that extra energy at the rims.
IT IS A SPINNER !!!..& I really love it.
Now it would appear that it has been released in the color Blue. I’m curious if they will continue to release even more colors…
Sorry for posting Non-YoYoRecreation subject matter on this thread.
I know that Japan does stuff differently than a lot of North American companies but I’m surprised how little hype/info there has been about the Sputnik
The people who have it here on the forum seem to absolutely love it. It’s super small, wide, and stable so it’ll open quite a few doors for new tricks, especially fast, super complex tech, in the style of the man who the yoyo was made for. And I’d bet you’d kill every chopstick trick with it also.
So far i’ve enjoyed smaller throws, i havent tried much in terms of wide but the diameter of the dv888 is ideal for me, as i have smaller hands (im 6’3 and a full grown man but have baby hands). you’ve got me really excited. Also, YYR ha them on sale, if anyone else is interested. I got mine shipped for $75 straight from them.
Ive gone through a lot of this thread and the opinion on the six seems shaky. Is it competition playable or would i be better of elsewhere… Need help guys…
I’m just looking for something different. I have a C3 Capless, CLYW Ava (unimpressed with his so far), YYF Delrin Severe, Genesis w/ Stacks, and a couple Dv888s. It seemed like it’d be very different from all of this so i’m excited
I haven’t tried it yet but I think it’s competition ready because it’s a signature model. I own a lot of YYR throws and they’re all good for competition. The only thing that kept me from buying the 6 is that its bearing size is size D. It will be hard for me to replace the bearing if something bad happens to it.
I enjoyed my Clashcube and I think it is an improvement to that yoyo so I think it’ll be a fun throw too.
Don’t worry about it, I’m sure you’ll love it. And if you happen to hate it, you can always trade it. (haha, rapper znin :D) And seriously, a YYR for 70 bucks is pretty hard to complain about.
Right when i make a thread complaining about no new interesting releases or anything from YYR they drop the Sputnik. Looks great. Specs look amazing. But… ¥23,800 for a raw yoyo?! That’s the same price as ano’d Draupnirs and Lasers. The raw releases are supposed to be ¥19,800 i assumed. Hoping that’s a pricing mistake because as much as it looks like an amazing throw, i just won’t pay that for a raw yoyo.
