Anyone know if there’s a difference between the old Sleipnir and the new one? Besides engravings and cosmetic differences…
I ordered one yesterday so I’ll be able to compare the two when it arrives. The stats look pretty much the same so I can’t imagine any difference will be too drastic.
I hope not anyway, the Sleipnir is perfect the way it is. If it ain’t broke…

I’m guessing they’ve taken after the profile of the Gleipnir to make it more comfortable. Looks a lot like the Gleipnir profile IMO.

It looks like they stripped a Sleipnir, sanded it down, and reano’d it. It no longer has that slick appearance; it looks like a blunt object.
Yeah honestly I liked the look of the old one better. But it will still hopefully play similar.
I’m inclined to agree. I loved the sharp lines of the Sleipnir, even down to the little angled step in the catch zone. It was like the Lamborghini Aventador of yoyos…
I’ll reserve judgement for when I actually have it in my hand, but it is a shame they decided to to smoothen it out the way they have.

I was thinking about picking up a blue one along with a new matte black Draupnir and Diffusion but wound up getting a Diffusion in a trade and a little bit of a discount on a Draup on FB so gonna hold off on the new Sleipnir for now.
I’m personally a fan of the smooth new design and new engravings from an aesthetic perspective. The profile really looks the same aside from losing the distinct ridge, like the visual difference between the Sasquatch and Avalanche. I doubt it will feel any different in the hand at all…definitely curious if the weight has been redistributed at all to change how it plays. Sleipnir is already one of the best yoyos I’ve ever thrown so there isn’t much room for improvement in the first place and the price is more than fair.
No, you’re not alone. I bought one of the Silver ones as well. I love the Sleipner, already have one but curiosity got the best of me.
Someone was nice enough to sell me their extra Schneider MK-II. Very impressive yoyo. It has the feeling in the hand and play of something in between the Fragment and Quake with the insane stability and spin time of a bimetal.
