You can’t decide what is better because of gap size. What is better, tighter binds, more spin time and better mid-air binds with tight gap or room for more strings with wider gap? This really depend just on players style.
At Japan nationals, how many people used gold Draupnir with wider gap and how many standard version?
So just because new version of Draupnir might fit better to some players, doesnt mean it’s better version.
I need new pads! Only ones they have left on YYE are YYR extra hard pads and I’m not really a fan of hard pads… Then there’s the irpads Yo-Yo Response – YoYoExpert but they only have the thick normal(2010) pads. Would those fit?
If not can anyone guide me to a US store that sells YYR pads

You got the last one. I guess they just randomly packed some up then just said ahh, we’ll just get to them in two weeks… hopefully that’s not the case.
I’ve owned both and there’s not that big a difference. The attuned Draupnir is still super bindy compared to most yo-yos. It still cracks my knuckles sometimes doing GTs and lacerations etc. It doesn’t do so quite as often as the first release Draupnir. That’s really the only difference. The attuned are slightly less responsive. I think the attuned/bobs are better. Some people may prefer the original but honestly I don’t think most people would even be able to tell the difference in a blind test. Unless you’ve played both extensively you likely wouldn’t notice. I’ve played both quite a bit and there is a bit of difference but it’s not as much as you’d think.
Also, I’m pretty sure MiamiBuddha bribed somebody to get his shipped. Of people on this board, I got the first one, MiamiBuddha got the second one, and Links got the third one I think. Yet only MiamiBuddha has a tracking number…very suspicious.

I picked one up this morning, against my better judgement. Now I will have two Draupnirs. Trying to decide if I should sell my silver one or keep it and make it a beater. (Queue cringes)

It was definitely a joke. None of my yo-yos are beaters. Even my every-day-carry Summit is only a little scuffed.
