Also when you start flowing the and old ideas together, it’s very satisfying, and keeps it fresh everyday.
It’s as stressful as you make it, it’s all about your mindset.
I guess yoyoing itself is as stressful as you make it. I don’t compete, so for me there is no stress involved in the activity itself. But if you’re really focused on it, it can make you forget about the stress of the real world for a while. Like riding a motorcycle in a big city can be stupid stressful, BUT to do it (and survive) requires such focus that you completely forget the stress of life. So riding around Atlanta is a way of forgetting my stress for a while. Unless you’re doing for money or glory, just remember it should be fun. There is no time limit on learning that new trick. Don’t stop learning, but go easy on yourself. Relax a little.
Kinda seems like we’re arguing semantics to an extent. Stress v. Aggravation. I’ll admit, when I’ve been trying to land something for hours and just cant get it, I get a tad ticked. However, it’s aggravation that I enjoy, because the dopamine reward will just be that much greater when it finally does click.
Ive definitely had times where I get to the point when I want to slam the yoyo into the ground in frustration. I’ve rage-quit learning a trick a few times, and that in itself is stressful imo. Especially those tricks that unforgivingly give you knots when you mess up. Throw down, mess up, untie knot. Throw down, mess up, untie knot. Throw down, mess up, untie knot (x9999). Throw down, mess up, break string in half to untie knot. Then proceed to the liquor cabinet for a shot of liquor, because damn I need a drink now.
I try not to get to that point, but hey, sometimes you just really want to land it.
Oh yeah, Im all up in some knots with Brent Stole, sometimes Ninja Vanish… “I Feel Your Pain”- Bill Clinton, Deep State Mafia, 1994
