Yoyo with me

I just wanted to ask you guys something.

Usually when I work (from home), I put Brandon Vu’s yoyo with me videos to keep me company. A bit of music that helps me focus and some yoyo tricks on the background to help me chill.

Sadly there are only two of those from Brandon.

What is your take on those? Do you like such content? I am thinking of making a couple of videos like that. If watching Brandon makes you feel like a mediocre player then maybe it will work the other way around as well. People seeing me suck might feel more confident about themselves as players… : :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Do you see such content at work or when you practice yoyo?

Brandon has 26 k views in his video. People love this kind of content it seems.

I enjoy video chats with people throwing. Its hard to pay attention to each other. But it feels less lonely. Especially coming from someone who is a straight recluse and stays inside all the time haha.

My question did not concern the livestream but the post live viewership.

How do you think would that work?

Im not really sure. I dont watch mutch of Brandons videos. Usually i have the goods podcast playing or old clyw videos. But i have seen the videos youre talking about. Why there is so many views idk. It seems boring to me someone standing there yoyoing without much dialogue.

There are clubs that get together online and dont quote me but i think they might live chat? The idea of a zoom meeting of throwers is kind of a cool idea.

I think the answer is " it just keeps you company" while yoyoing.

Very true! Thats one of the reasons why i like the Goods podcast so much. Not only are Tyler and Jake very relatable, but it does sort of keep me company. Very well said!

G2 meets and throws online, YYBC meets and drinks and does a bit of throwing, I’ve seen some of the young folks occasionally use Instagram live. There are folks that pop into the throwers discord and YoYo

Online club yo-yoing is nice. It’s not as good as an in person club but fills a void.

I listen to music or podcasts or audiobooks when I work from home. I only really watch Yoyo clip videos or tutorials or contest routines. It sounds like people like them based on the views they get so that’s cool. Like I don’t think it’s good or bad or have a strong opinion either way. Not all content needs to be for everyone and that’s fine.

When I play Yoyo I usually play in silence or to music if I’m just chilling and playing Yoyo. If I’m trying to learn something new, I give 100% attention to whatever I’m working on and listening to music can make me play too fast or too slow before I’m ready to commit to a speed bc I always try to match the tempo of the music.

Same thing happens to me. I can get carried away with the music rhythm and mess up.

Usually I have a movie or a podcast that I follow all the time in the background, even if I am making a combo does not disturb me, in total silence feels weird.
With music I have the same problem Henry said, it makes me go faster or slow down so I use it only when I am free playing.

I noticed that have someone that talk in the background help me to concentrate and seems like “i am not alone”

There’s allot of nothing in the US and folks with no one around them. The Washington DC YoYo club DMVT is the only YoYo club in 30 - 50 miles of the city. There is a small club in Maryland but it’s a bit more localized.

Honestly if like 3 of us didn’t operate the DC club it wouldn’t exist.

Online clubs are hard too there’s never a perfect time for everyone. If Cody didn’t schedule the YYBC meets or Jake the G2 I probably wouldn’t join any online meet ups. It just takes like one person to schedule something and be consistent and folks will come to it.
