Who are some that play in competitions
Well there’s Andre Boulay, John Ando, Shinji Saito, Josh Yee, Yuuki Spencer, Hiroyuki Suzuki, and a bunch more that I don’t know about. These are just off the top of my head, so I don’t know of some of them still compete.

Tyler Severance, Tyler Goldenberg, Alex Hattori, Michael Nakamura, Paolo Bueno, Anthony Rojas, James Reed, Alex Kim, and me (Shannon Jackson). Just some that competed at SoCal last weekend.
Many of the yoyo contests have roster sheets of those who competed. Worlds showed who was in preliminaries and final rounds. I think CalStates and Nationals did too in 2011.
No list is complete, but you’ll see many names over and over again. That’s really where you might want to draw your lists from: names you see at the big contests. Also, check any yoyo company and see if they list their sponsored players. Those sponsored players are typically in the competition circuit. Not always, but it’s a good starting point.
Not to single out people, but it appears Jayyo is as active in the competition circuit as he can afford to be. CalStates, BAC and Nationals for sure since those are all within reasonable driving distance and therefore affordable for him. He was even at Worlds in 2011.
