I think it might be North Korea. Since they are not on the internet; you just have never seen them play.

In all seriousness; it is probably still Japan. They have so many good players for such a small population.

Wouldn’t China be up there? I don’t pay attention to competitions, but it seems like there are a few Chinese players with signature yoyos.

The Australians and Canadians know what their doing, along with the Philippines and Singapore. Brazilian players also have a deep history and don’t count out Mexico.

No offense but I only knew 3 or few players in these countries that you mentioned that has top competitive skills.

Your list makes me proud as a Vietnamese, probably because our name is still small and so is the market, this is why most players are not well known. I have seen many many more talented player from 2013-2017 but they all quit yo-yoing now because of many reasons. Now, we got social media booming especially IG and TikTok so hopefully things will be better

Not gonna lie most Vietnamese players has dense techincal tricks I’ve ever seen close to russians players, even with a single layered mount can do mind boggling trick concepts and it makes the viewers inspired (including me) to make their own combos.

Hopefully one day, I will see more of them competing in the international contest other than AP (I missed AP so bad, AP and 44CLASH hands down the best imo)

I agree AP has crazy SEA lineups like from the previous years, I wonder if the SG organizers has plans to make a championship this year since the pandemic is starting to slow down a bit. If they decided to do the contest again I’m 140 percent will compete and meet my yoyo friends again.

4 - China
5 - Czech Republic
Honorable mentions to Vietnam, Russia, Taiwan, Singapore

Sure we don’t want to talk about what country makes the best yoyo’s instead? :skull_and_crossbones:

Japan. Just think about the best players in yoyoing beside 1a. Yoyoing is not always about 1a.

OK, let’s expand this a little bit. I’m always in search a little information on yo-yo that I find interesting that I don’t already know which is most stuff I would guess ha ha.

But let’s go in this direction for a second. Let’s say we know the country that has the best yo-yo players. OK. Now let’s say we can easily identify who the best players are. At least the ones that compete. OK. Now let’s say we identify exactly every yo-yo that each of the best players from the best country, providing the best players using the best yo-yos… What each exact model is that each player uses for each and every contest of the year. OK

I know they’re supposed to be a question in there somewhere and here it is. Let’s say we could identify 15 of the top players in the world and let’s say just hypothetically that they all come from the same country or maybe divided down into two countries.

The question I would like to have answered is what string each player uses on the yo-yo he ir she wins their title with? When I watch the top level competitors, I noticed without any difficulty that their strings seem to move in a fashion that I can’t duplicate, even just within the tricks I’m capable of doing. Doing the speed streaks and the long combos and various lacerations and whips and whatever… Most of the top level player strings don’t seem to coil up… They move through the air deliberately like neck chain as opposed to yarn. Obviously, most of the top players have fine. Tuned their ability to control strength tension by setting up their tricks in an order that tightens and loosens
The string has they moved through their freestyle.

Obviously, unless there’s a secret that they keep and none of us know other than them… They can’t all be using the same string.

I would really be interested that after a list you guys come up with of what country has the top players. And what yo-yos the top players use on their way to the championships… I would really like to know what their string of choice is before they step on the stage and not the judge is right out of their chairs?

I’ve been focusing more on that question lately simply because if anybody it’s been paying attention is actually… Been paying attention there seems to be more strings available in more blends for more companies than any other time in modern history. Just like most Sponsored players. have a signature yo-yo. It seems as time goes by, a good number of sponsored players also come up with a signature yo-yo string.

And I have noticed following the forum that people seem to be interested in what player won this and where they’re from and what company they represent and what yo-yo they used… But I seldom hear anybody ask what string they used for the contest?

I think string… Definitely can be a contributing factor when you got a couple minutes to get those judges to push those clickers in the right direction.
