Yoyo Boomers Club

Do you really think we will get a cease and assist for using the Duncan butterfly?

I have touched base with Mr. Nate. He is going to email me his notes from last years FAF. Thank you Sir.

Mr. Nate was in a better situation then we are for obtaining the sponcership. I am working on Drafting a Email requesting product support to send out.

But before I reach out, we will need to finalize the Volunteers, Rolls, etc. Basically all the logistics of how we will actually pull it off. LOL.

I am proud that while we were looking at Modern Responsive March, we are considering making Fixed Axel February a thing.

I’m good to Volunteer however. Just let me know what’s needed and I’ll fill the roll.

I was unsure at first, what this club would turn into. I’m not disappointed

Maybe a better option would be to utilize our community resources. I forget the name of the Gentleman that works for Duncan that is on the forum. But a email/conversation could benefit us.

I asked Mr. Andre for permission to use the YYE Logos for the Fundraiser. He supplied us with the logos.

If we approach Duncan;

"Sir/Mam,
Our online Yoyo Club, Yoyo Boomers Club, on Yoyoexpert (link). Are looking to host the Annual Fixed Axle February Event on the Forum. We would like to have some stickers made for Butterfly Yoyos to commemorate the event for those who participate. Can we have permission to use the Butterfly design, but modify it like below for this event?

Thank you for your time and Consideration."

As of right now, you are working the 24 trick list?

@bjardin is the person you’re referencing.

I actually kind of like having a unique take on a butterfly but I’m not an artist :man_shrugging:

This couldn’t hurt. It would certainly beat judicial intervention

I am happy to volunteer in some capacity.

I hate to be this person, but I’m an engineer and can’t help it. I think putting a little process in place would probably allow us to better execute on the vision

No way maaaan!! We gotta fly by the seat of our pants man!! Seriously though, you are not wrong.

Yeah I figured that might be the response…

Yeah, but a lot of that is done for us already. Nate the past few years I think has really dialed in some of the better tricks for a fixie trick ladder. There’s definitely some that can be swapped out to make it more unique to this year though.

I have tomorrow off work. Maybe it would help if I create a list just for FAF and then lay it out here for everyone to dissect and give opinions on. And then think about MRM after.

Absolutely.

A Process Flow Map could help us visualize.

We will still need people comfortable with Filming and Posting. While it does not have to be a single individual, we would need in my vision at least 3.

Also, who can edit and post the videos if we get our hosts covered?

I really like the layout Mr. Jake and Mr. Matt are doing now with MMYY.

Host Opens,
Announces the Beginner Trick Name on the Yoyo Expert Trick Page
A volunteer performs the Intermediate Trick, Tutorial
AVolunteer performs the advanced Trick, Tutorial.

I can set up a spreadsheet for keeping track of the participation each week.

Why not leverage our community as well?

We could post a Challenge in the 0A thread (We have a link to it in the first post). “What Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance Tricks would you like to see in this year’s Fixed Axel February?”

Get the voice of our customers so to speak… from the experienced crowd…

That’s a great idea. Do you think it should be posed in the 0A thread or start a new thread?

Edit: I guess the 0A thread is already pretty established. Probably best to just post there.

I feel like what you’re asking the community is too complex. It’s going to be a mess.

I think we should skip the tiers and just pick a few achievable tricks and they can get a little harder each week.
