hey hey, no arguing in front of the kids! whatd the flies do to you
This is how you end up with a spite brand that makes the thing cause you won’t. You want that? Cause bar stock and a lathe aren’t that expensive… I joke but also I don’t…
Glen taking a page from Vavle’s Gabe Newell.
Fact: SWFL did not have a v3 proto
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Conspiracy confirmed: Glen == Gabe Newell
SWFL v3 wen
I joke, of course
I encourage people to make the thing that I won’t.
So how do I have the axle made for a metal fixed axle that is cost effective? It would require a grub screw with a smooth polished section in the middle. That would probably have to be machined along with a yoyo and possibly from a different shop. Or, it could just used a machined blank the size of an MR85 which would cost significantly more to produce than an MR85 bearing itself.
So… I could design a metal fixed axle that uses an MR85 bearing where the bearing is inserted in a way into the halves that prevents it from spinning. But then, why not just brick your Harbinger or RBC? It would be the same effect. Also, if it needs to be designed with an MR85, why not just make a design where the bearing spins freely?..
Maybe @MarkD would make one, but if I won’t, I think Mark doubly so.
Bruised my palm so bad, I couldn’t yoyo for 3 days. that’s what they did to me.
Printed in HTPLA which is more temperature resistant and stronger. So far any test axle I’ve printed in it hasn’t melted yet. I’m gonna put it through the paces and see if it keeps holding up. HTPLA can also be annealed to be even more heat resistant so if this one melts I’ll chuck the next in a heat chamber for ~10 minutes
psh folded paper towel and duct tape, get back to work!
This mentality of dont need X they already make Y and that’s good enough. Why modifying yoyo became/was/is a thing. Cause there is always someone that wants to make Y yoyo play like X but some people just want to buy X from a store and will never bother getting it made.
Keep this way of thinking, haha. I didn’t think I was the collector type…until I was…downside also being when you play so many, you can also spot the slight differences easily and you’re like “see, they’re totally different, must try them all” haha!
Plus side being I’m also getting to the point where I can look at something and mentally also go “no, this one’s probably not for me,” but that’s been after a lonnnng time of trial and error.
This is why we love you pyro. Did we need a mr85 fh0. I say yes but I’m aware most would say no but here we are and I’m still half tempted to get a second lol
Well I guess I failed then.
Negative Sir.
Your success is not only bringing inspiriring new designs BUT Inspiring OTHERS.
“Glen did this. Maybe I can utalize that idea and do this”
Nothing more successful than inspiring others! Trail Blazer. Cutting the path for others to follow and branch off.
Not just based on your products.
Nah I just mean I won’t make a an AL fixed axle. That is apparently a stubborn act against creativity and progress or something.
Glenn it’s fine. I’m annoying and push for silly things sometimes more than I should. Not trying to get you down. If you’re not into it then it won’t be good anyway. I respect your desire to make only neat things that fill gaps you want to fill and not just fill gaps in your wallet.
I suppose all this banter is expediting the release of the “Plastic RBC”.
If you can’t help, get outta the way!
I want a one-piece fixed axle aluminum yo-yo NOW.
Mine is also slightly concave. It’s kinda hard to make out in the picture because it’s so tiny so here is the model as well.
The outer ridge is also shrunk down a little to try to nestle into the bearing seat to avoid free spinning.
