Exactly!!!
It definitely was by far the nicest thing someone has yelled to me from a pickup truck driving by.
The nicest thing someone has yelled to me from a pickup truck was: “Did you make those? They’re very good!”
I used to sell Origami outside of our house.
I can’t say I’ve ever had anyone yell anything nice at me. To be fair, I’d be caught off guard, and I would probably cry inside.
What are my fellow young at heart yoyoers using for 5a these days?
Seems like there is less of a focus on designing yo-yos for freehand with the decline of everything but 1a. And then a bunch of 5a marketed yo-yos are just comp 1a yo-yos with a little more stability, still extra wide with huge catchzones.
I just bought a DunkLX and a Higby Chunk, and the John Wolfe yo-yo looks interesting as well.
Unresponsive: I lean towards the CLYW Beater, because…well…it’s a beater, and it’s designed by a notorious beater of yoyo’s, haha.
Also, I still have a YYF/YT Atlas that i like, which was one of my 5a learning throws since it was wide and super stable, also a lot of love marks on that one.
Responsive: I like the Recess Firecracker to be honest, it wasn’t really designed for 5A, but mine came with a CW on it and I just kind of really liked the set-up.
Outside of that, my other go-to is still a plastic Freehand One, BUT, I have been playing around with a Peakhand for a bit, and I think that’s going to take both of their places, super fun set-up responsive.
Or you can be like me and just free yourself from the shackles of “beautiful yoyos” and any throw can be a 5a player
@megachicken289’s first steps on getting a new throw recently have been to throw it straight into the ground, or something. It’s durability testing really, and freedom from there going forward.
I’m afraid to ask him how his Operator is doing, haha!
It’s more of a play preference thing. That definitely plays into it, but it’s more like I’m not going to beat a yoyo up for 5a unless I’m committed to using it for 5a.
I’m also like stuck in the mid 2000s with my 5a mindset, both with tricks and yo-yos.
All yoyos are 5a yoyos when you set your mind free
@Durfee:
What are you trying to tell me? That I have to pick a 5a yoyo for 5a?
@megachicken289:
No, @Durfee . I’m trying to tell you that when you’re ready, you won’t have to
Whats your preferred style?
In responsive 5A I really dig the DocPop PLTPS.
Sorry I dont play Unresponsive 5A.
I am now officially OLD.
I am reorganizing the Almost World Famous Pun1sh3R Wall and I came across this yoyo.
For the life of me, I can not remember Make or Name.
Help???
