For some reason, I pictured this but with a wrinkly old turtle dude instead of a human dude. And he could use his cane as his non throw hand. Maybe have a GT hanging off the cane? I wish I was better at drawing. I want to make this reality!

sounds like you’re talking about master oogway from kung-fu panda LOL

This is almost perfect! Who’s got the photoshop skills to reimagine him enough to avoid copyright infringement and set him up holding a Green triangle with his cane on his extremely high wall organic yoyo?

Establish a Charter

Would we want to be seen this way? Or something more professional that doesnt pander to the derogatory side?

We would need to carry the motion. Didnt see any “Neh’s”

Other steps;
*Mission Statement
*Criteria - Self Proclaimed Yoyo Boomer?
*Start a Club Thread? Link this Thread in the First post?

It seems to me that the term Yo-yo Boomer was most likely introduced in at least some small way by the younger crowd finding annoyance with the older yo-yo crowd and their yo-yo habits/ideals.
I feel like it probably came about as a mix of the term Baby Boomer which seems applied in a derogatory way toward old people and the way they don’t fit in to the technology driven, social media addicted society of today. Add to that the fact that there was a “Yo-yo Boom” in the 90s that’s often referred to by those who lived it. Combining the 2 into Yo-yo Boomer as a way of encompassing all who live and enjoy the “hobby” in a way that the youth find offensive for some reason. So I would imagine that a Yo-yo Boomer is actually someone who embodies all or most of the qualities that have been pointed out as somehow annoying to those who can’t seem to find any room for people who are different than they are. Most of us who are older and lived through these times of yore, have actually always been different and placed in a societal corner (so to speak). We tend to love being different and find the thought of conformity to be rather distasteful. So quite often when confronted with the ridicule of others we choose to embrace the scorn and count it as a compliment. With behaviors such as adopting the scornful term and making a club out of it. This often turns out to be the most entertaining course of action as it often leaves those who felt the need to break us down even more perplexed by our particular oddities. This is my take on it for what it’s worth. :kissing_heart:

We could do with more acceptance, just generally, because most things people get mad about dont matter at all. For example which tricks and yoyos people enjoy

If a “Boomer” is someone who played as a youth. Recently came back into Yo-Yo to enjoy modern interpretation of what is familiar to them, then that’s me.

I was part of the fads of the 70’s. I threw an Imperial and later a Butterfly. I stepped back in in 2019 with interest in a few “new” but similar offerings (responsive) for my own personal entertainment (w/ a limited arsenal of tricks).

Maybe an attempt to cling to my youth or satisfaction that what was once relevant still has some relevancy.
