I’m looking for fluid/liquid bearings that are size c I’m pretty sure they don’t exist but I’m wondering if there is size c bearings that are mosty air tight / liquid tight so I can try putting galinstan in it (as an experiment)
I’m all for experimenting, but just FYI, some of the smoothest and longest spinning bearings I’ve used in so many different yo-yos over the years are manufactured by NSK. Specifically, the gold and platinum plated bearings. They are not sealed and run bone dry. Best bearings I’ve ever used in a yoyo
Ik air tight or tight fitted shields cause friction slowing it down but this is more of a prototype design for tests so I can than later make a custom bearing
you would have better luck buying some rubber shielded R188 bearings and then doing whatever you wanted and reinstalling the rubber shields and sealing them somehow. IMO.
Thanks
Love the idea but note any additive to the bearing will reduce spin time
I was kinda looking into this, I abandoned looking. @AudreySickburn’s idea of the cleaning rubber sealed r188 bearings was my best bet.
