Your embarrassing confession?

Someone please tell me I’m not the only one that will completely blank out on a trick I’ve done 1000 times when I start to learn a trick that starts with similar elements. This has happened a few times now. I just started learning maximum overdrive and it has similar beginning element as bonesplint. I completely forgot bonesplint yesterday and had to watch a tutorial to remember.

I blank out on tricks all the time. I think I’m just getting old. Everytime i learn a new trick it seems like i forget on and have to go back and watch a vid to jog my memory.

The yoyoer’s curse. Landing sick tricks all day until you try to show someone and then you cant even get a good trapeze. Hate it when that happens

Oh my f’n god man. This. I will go to show someone and turn into a person that’s never even seen a yo-yo before

Feeling pretty confident with a couple of newly learnt tricks at home and practicing days before that first yoyo meet up. Finally get to the yoyo meet up, can’t hit those trick and worse, just ending up in knots most of the time! Ugh.

I purposely don’t ever show any one tricks because I don’t want to have them standing there watching me say “hold on I messed up” haha

Sick I was wondering what that was

I just got the 80 gram Hades yesterday. My first impression was that it plays even heavier than I expected. Despite (or due to?) the heft I was already in love with it after just a session or two when I picked it up again. I was astonished by how light it suddenly felt. I thought to myself, wow, I’ve really got a feel for this yoyo now. I had about 5 minutes straight of sublime yoyoing. Then, I looked down in my hand, and lo and behold, I was holding the GTR JS I had been playing before I got the Hades. Not even a similar colorway. Even though I was alone, I was embarrassed, lol.

Almost caused a code yellow at my school because of 5a  (I use a barrel of a toy revolver for my counterweight, and I accidentally left it)

This was my favorite “front style? No thank you”

I have three confessions.

I let the colorway of a yoyo factor in too much when making a purchase/trade. Miss out on some good throws being picky.

Also. I yoyo maintenence way to much… I have silica gel packs in my cases just in case, I change strings VERY often(mainly because I make my own) even though they last ridiculously long times. If a bearing sounds or feels even slightly gritty or weird, I clean it immediately even though I know I dont need to. I clean with windex and buff with monkey buff way too much. Just a little over the top maintenance.

Third… I give up on tricks/combos to quickly. Even if it’s simple and would just take a little more practice, I’ll jump to something else and give up on whatever it is im working on. Been trying to quit this lately and stick with learning something new until ive gotten it down. For instance thumb plucks after a hop…ive been trying to learn Enigma and i just cant do the hop plus thumb pluck.
