Young Entrepreneurs of YoyoExpert!

I have a couple, but none that are scheduled to be for sale. I might be able to though if thats what youre asking haha.

Man, how much do I miss when I am gone on vacation for a week? Sheez

May also do a bit of powder coating in a few months  I’m mainly doing it for myself, but you can’t expect me to use up a whole pound of powder lol

Have you got the equipment now? I know you were raising some money toward it. This is great, and I think once you add that to your skill set, you will be raking in even more business. I know you’re doing it for yourself at the start, but once you get it perfect and open it up to others, we’ll all reap the rewards of your hard work. ;D

A great example of taking some of your profits and reinvesting in your business. YoyoSpirit is investing in equipment that will grow his business in the long run. Great news!

My work would be nothing compared to mullicabob’s though lol He’s been helping me quite a bit!

Which leads me to another point. It’s crucial in business to find a great mentor. A mentor can help you with things you need to know, but also help you avoid some of the pitfalls they may have encountered in business. It’s like helping the community by helping someone talented from the next generation. Also, someday passing the torch as well. Someday you two will be putting heads together to make the magic. Nice to know you’ve found someone who is a great resource.

I’m thinking I might make up a young entrepreneur game/contest and give away a prize in here. I’m still thinking of the concept. If I get at least 3 people interested, I’ll go forward with it.

^ entrepreneurial contest? Sounds like fun! I’d be happy to help out if I can

I’m glad you’re on board Legyoyo. I’m still stewing on some ways to have fun in here, and put a prize up too. I’ll keep you guys posted when I have a solid idea…hopefully by tonight.

I guess I’ll put this here. At the end of the school year, something called Young Entrepreneurs Academy was announced. It is run through the local chamber of commerce, and what they do is teach you how to start and run a business. There is also an investors panel and a trade fair. So, I filled out an application, went to an interview, and got in! It starts in October, and runs through the entire school year.

Anyways, my business idea was for an entertainment business. I have done several talent shows with my yoyo, and people have really seemed to enjoy it. I thought, why not do this on a larger scale, while making money? I could perform at birthdays, conventions, etc. Also, I though about also giving yoyo lessons.

I like prizes!

Wow! I can’t believe the name if it almost matches the name of this thread. That program seems like a lot of fun. I’m sure you can turn your service into a business. Perhaps, for a fee, you can bring some very cheap yo-yos for the party goers, give them tips, and show them what you’ve been able to do with practice. That sounds really neat. Then, you can bring business cards if parents want to continue with you and pay for lessons. I wish more people offered private yo-yo lessons. Just a few students a week could keep money coming in. Kids go to Karate lessons, Piano lessons…why not yo-yo lessons too?

I especially like the idea of an “investors panel,” which seems to mean there are a group of people interested in investing in the best business ideas presented. That would be really cool. I can’t wait to see what kinds of things you’ll be learning. Congratulations on getting in the program.

i hope you enjoy that it sounds like a great time for ya!

Thanks!

total artist what is the idea for your contest total artist?

I’m still working on it. It may be in two stages though, one stage about yo-yos, one stage about business. I’m working on a way to integrate things that might help our young business people. Then, after calculating the two stages, you add them together and use the total score to determine the winner. It may take me a few more days. If we get at least 3 people to go head to head, like on a game show, that would be cool. No adults allowed. They can buy their own throws.

When we find everyone who wants to be involved, we can agree to a time to meet up in this thread, and have the contest. Outsiders can be spectators. I’m still thinking though…I won’t forget. Agreeing to show up for the contest, is like showing up for a meeting or a conference in business. You have to make it to take part, and you have to be on time. That will be the first rule of the contest. You’re learning as soon as you show up. ;D

well however it turns out I’m in! also if possible i could see it happening on skype or google hangout
