what’s better, buying one more expensive yoyo, or buying two less expensive yoyos?
First of all, welcome to the Forums, Midnight! Hope you like it here!
If you’re just starting out, I would recommend you stay towards the cheaper yoyos for now. Some of the more expensive yoyos are unresponsive, meaning you have to return the yoyo with a bind, and not a tug of hand. The more expensive yoyos will be better for you when you are way more advanced into yoyoing, but once again if you’re just starting out I would suggest buying the cheaper yoyos for now.
Here’s some highly recommended suggestions for you, they are great yoyos to start learning basic tricks, as well as intermediate sleeper tricks-advanced tricks:

i am at around an intermediate level, even though i just got an account. i have a dark magic, and am trying to find what i like, going into a transition from intermediate to advanced. i am going to be sharing whatever i get with my sibling, who is a little more advanced than me
Oh, then I would most definitely get a Protostar. I’ts a great advanced throw that can take you from intermediate to pro. It’s been used in a ton of competitions and have actually won. It’s possibly the most popular plastic yoyo ever, too. I have to say the ProtoStar is better than alot of metals I have tried/owned. It’s really really cheap, but it plays SO good. Don’t underestimate it just because of it’s price. I would recommend that you.
