You can use cotton yo-yo string to tie your turkey’s legs. I do not recommend a slip knot.

Several years ago I bought my nephews some cheaper Duncans for Christmas and they came with a couple extra packs of cotton string that they didn’t take with them.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago when my wife was roasting a chicken and I pulled the string off and noticed a loop tied on one end. She got a good laugh out of it after I pointed out that she had been using yoyo string as kitchen twine!
