Anyone!?! Cool String Flavors? Whaddya do with your old ones

So, where do yall land on strings? It’s almost a Rabbit Hole in and of itself isn’t it? Thanks to a buddy, Aaron for these Mountain Dews from Bad Wolfe Co. Really great strings. Then ya got some string labs, some cloudweave, and some rando’s that have come with trades, buys and such. I’m pretty sure I have a ledgend for some of them. I started doing it to, when ya add strings, include their name!

What do you do with your old ones? A doctor told me to wash them @DocPop  I tried zipping them up in pockets and sending them through the wash, no positive results to report. I’ve heard dish soap? We used to add a bit to spackle when we were finishing. Iykyk Orbit likes it. The blue ones, not so much.

if they hang low and they wobble to and fro, then i’ll tie them in a knot, or tie them in a bow.

Honestly, there are so many different strings out there that it’s hard to keep track of them all. I try to stick to kitty for looping and bulk - Zipline for everything else. Keeps it simple and at least I know the type and brand. I did get some in a package from someone that I bought some throws from on here and they are really good.

I love the cat pics. It reminds me of a trip I took to Chicago. I stayed at a friends place that had an adorable cat. I woke up one morning to the sound of the cat spitting out a nasty sounding hairball. I went to go check on it and realized the cat had eaten a yo-yo string all the way to the part that was still attached to the yo-yo. So its little face was pressed right up to the yo-yo. I gently pulled the string out and the cat seemed fine. I kept my yo-yos and strings locked up tightly for the rest of the trip.

Cant remember if I washed that string, I probably just threw it away.

Speaking of washing, I prefer throwing old strings in the washing machine, but soap and hot water works too. For the washing machine, I use a soft bag with a zipper that was made for washing delicate items. Some strings clean up better than others, I’m particularly fond of how nylon strings clean up. In fact, some get better with age, but not all strings benefit that much from cleaning.
