Strings replacement

What are some good high quality strings I could buy? Strings that are of a higher quality than the ones that come on duncan yo-yos

For what yoyo? Original Throw normal will be good probably

Tbh I bought a bundle of one drops stock string and it’s been great. It breaks in nicely, lasts a long time. Zipline’s whole line up is great, and fun to try. Same with YoYoStringLab here on YYE, baller colorways with them too.

+1 to Original Throw, very nice, very soft, not the longest life, but I still love it.

@rkalajian ‘s ThrowYo makes very high quality string also, my favorite boutique strings, I put them on my special throws.

I have the Duncan butterfly and the hornet and the strings they came with seem like they’re low quality. But I’m a beginner, so maybe that’s normal. I also have a more expensive nonResponsive yo yo just wondering what strings would be higher quality and a little longer. Also I’d like to tie my own custom loop around my finger. The pre tied loops on the duncans fit loose on my hand. I want more stability.

Youre making a slipknot correct? Also as a new player, slipknots will kind of slide around a bit but that does go away. Getting more strings is good and fine like you will need to do that soon anyways. Just don’t think that new strings will solve all your issues.
Original throw normal will be good. You might need to double loop the axle of the butterfly but just ask us how when you get the new strings and we can help. As a beginner you really dont want to dive too deep into strings. Ot is what a lot of pros use and if it is good enough for them it is good enough for us.

Edit: i thought of a couple more things re: the slipknot slides around and feels unsecured. Try to flip the slipknot so it is facing the other way and that can help. One direction slides around more than the other. Also you can put like beeswax or rosin on the slipknot and that will help prevent it from sliding around. Don’t expect that to instantly go away with new strings though like you kinda need to just play for a few months until you get some calluses built up.
