I’m pretty sure this is a Chinese yoyo. The others are diabolos. There’s an extra “o” in it. Diablo is Spanish for devil.
HOLY CRAP, dude…this guy is now my hero.

I know, it is the first duncan ever produced. This is definite inspiration for me.

The article mentions the paper ones too
Have you ever seen the troupe of Asian girls who throw old wooden diabolos in a choreographed routine on Cirque du Soleil?
Hmm… I just took my 1999 National yoyo contest BC fixed axle out of it’s package.
This is awesome!

There are some nice no jives on eBay right now. That’s about the only place to find them. If I hadn’t already ordered a new throw the other day, I’d be bidding.
I’d be interested in seeing more exotic woods worked with. I’m not complaining about the ones we have now, but there are some really amazing woods out there that could surely be good unresponsive yoyos. Wood such as Ipe is pretty dense, weather resistant, and quite hard.

Something with C sized bearings, sili response and H or V shaped?
I’d easily drop $50-80 for it
Bearings? We don’t need no stinking bearings.
