Wood is Good

Can you post a pic of the catch zone of the baldwin?

I can get one up tomorrow, unless someone beats me to it. I just shut my laptop down and I’m heading to bed.

Here ya go. The backlit one for comparison is a Fremont, Baldwin, and Lovejoy.

Sweet pic thanks!!! I love the look of the Baldwin!!

The Lovejoy is the only one with chamfered edges, correct? It’s on my wishlist because it’s the biggest of these three and the chamfered edges are an added bonus. Though I could sand the edges of any of these… but it wouldn’t be a machined job.

Btw, can someone PM me (or post if allowed) where to buy type 10 cotton yo-yo string? I have type 8 cotton for my Irving… is it a significant difference? Figured I’d try it anyways.

@mgiroux77 Get it while the gettins good buddy. Treat Yo Self 2012.

Correct. Its kind of like an Irving but much wider and with softer edges.

Thanks for handling the photo, porkstuff. One less thing to do today

I was able to snag a few EH yo-yos the other day. Very cool yo-yo!

I started throwing as a kid in the mid 80’s when I lived in San Francisco and went to Dr. Kuhn’s dentist office. In the intervening years, life – and an intense (but gratifying) career has sometimes taken me away from day-to-day play. But recently, because of Ed’s blog, and the way he’s able to drill down and articulate the simple joys this sport brings us in a complicated world… my love for the game has returned stronger than ever. So thrilled to have the “EH” folded into my modest but well loved collection – it brings everything back full circle. Thanks Ed!

My wood yoyo collection

Realized I posted this image incorrectly last week… Trying again! Found this old TK mailer (among quite a few others) in my garage last week … postmarked Nov 22nd 1993  Thought it appropriate for the season.

Happy Holidays!

I’m enjoying my Eh thoroughly. It is absolutely perfect.

Ed, did you design it yourself?

Anyone have tutorials for fixed axle stalls?

Here’s one Ed made. Check out the one called lunar landing. It’s crazy.

Thanks.  I finally have something to do with my Irving.

Would you guys reccomend the Lovejoy, Freemont, or the Baldwin? Is the axle kit any good?

I’m finally starting to hit the trapeze stall pretty regularly, I can do it from the forward pass every few tries, but I suck at shoot the moon to begin with, so trying to land that has resulted in a few choice swear words and few busted knuckles lol.
