Did you account for the cylinder descending in the middle. I imagine the (filter?) is somewhat permeable for water, but not so much for string.

The filter shouldnt do much and they also account for that in water quantity and the filter doesnt go all the way down its just a small portion. Fitting all those strings with a long filter would be very difficult and that would mean you can only cover the inner walls of string, which it looks like that isnt the case by the amount the strings are being compressed. I calculated the amount of space in the jug by the amount of water the jug can hold and looking at the amount of space water takes in a similar amount. Most jugs hover around the same amount of water held and similar jugs pitcher containers do also, because murica and the measuring system is wack. They usually use water to calculate the fluid ounces, i mean what are they gonna use, lemonade? Tasty yes, practical no. Then measure the rough amount of space a string takes and adjust the numbers for any discrepancies. Strings are very flexible so the amount of strings lost in calculation shouldnt be that much (i hope). I got roughly 375 strings and looking at how much a pack of 100 strings looks like, i think im close. There is defintely varying string pack totals. Then again, i know that ima be wrong but something is better than nothing.
