wow i never thought of it that way O.O. the people at my yoyoclub say i shouldnt cut my string. i dunno. im gonna have to check in with them before i make my final decision. thanks ^.^!
And this is why this post was totally unnecessary⦠I rest my case.
Im 5ā5 and I use string a little above bellybutton for 5a (the length of a snacktime string)
I used to use a string up to my waist for 1A, just put your fingers closer togetherā¦
However, I have made a switch to 5a, once you go 5a, you probably will go backā¦but im notā¦
If keeping your string long is what makes you feel more comfortable, stay with it. There are many professional players that play with a little bit longer string, like Anthony Rojas and Evan Nagao. But over time, you might as well give it a try, because Iāve found that one appreciates shorter strings when they have more skill later. In the beginning, extra space is important when learning.
Iām 6ā 2, and I donāt cut my string. Then again, I donāt think I need to. ;D
6ā3. No need to cut string.
I like it this way.

Iām not trying to create a big debate, but I feel like I need to explain a little bit of the logic behind cutting your string. Ahem⦠Quantum theory holds that a vacum is subject to quantum uncertinties, such as the idea of spontaneous existince caused by a pack of energy that can be described by physical laws.
How this has to do with cutting your string, I donāt know, but I trust you have a simple enough understanding of quantum physics so this shouldnāt be too hard to figure out.
Back on subject⦠When I first started yoyoing, ( I was about 5ā4-5ā5.) I figured , that not cutting your string means that you have more string to work with. But alas, I failed to see the true problems lying in my decision. You see, when your string is just about a few inches taller than your bellybutton it requires you after you make a throw to raise your hand up in order to get the yoyo to stop swinging back behing you, causing you to waste precious compitition time slowing down your yoyo. Sometimes, in extreme cases it even dulls your throw because you have to pull up your hand early. Your tricks are normally slower( not all ther time) and overall it takes away from the quality of your peformance. But hay, thatās just my opinion.
In all respect, soccerdude.
Edit: Who cares if you can do one less triple or nothing or rewind string hit. Is the world gonna end? ( that was a retorical question.)
Honestly iām just to lazy to cut my string⦠but iām pretty itās around my bellybutton stock.
OK, we donāt really care what height you have your string.
Yes to x52, just play it, as you become more experienced you can decide your own preferences easily, such as length of string.

yoyoaddict96:
ok ? was this really necessary ?

ahhh, i love it when people make a big deal about not makeing a big deal over something.

What do you mean" before you make your final decision?" Just try cutting your string for a day or two, and see if you like it more. Problem solved.
