My desire to play with a yoyo decreases as price increases.
What if I damaged/lost it?!
My actual limit is more about my collection than the money spent; I try really hard to curate a collection of about 10 or less. It helps me enjoy what I have rather than chase what I don’t, makes me really consider if I REALLY want that new drop, and forces me to be aggressive about dropping the ones that I don’t enjoy anymore. I’ve sold a couple things that I regret due to this (PK Sliver), but overall I think it’s been working out for me.
That’s the kind of price that I would have to sell something that would cover at least half of it to be able to justify. I am planning to move this Korg D1600 mixer for somewhere in the 250ish range eventually so like its not impossible. I bet it absolutely rips! I love my plastic 000.
I’ve bought a few yoyos around the 130$ mark by now. Never feel too bad about it. But seeing 200$ + is a bit much more me. Not saying i wouldn’t do it, but i haven’t yet. So i’ll say 150 is my mark. Anything over that i’d have to really think about. My latest purchase was the yoyofriends TiNY. Was 130 i think. Worth it.
Most I’ve spent is $750 on one throw… Most I WOULD spend is ~$2k
I don’t like not being able to recoup my spend and I don’t know many people that would spend that amount on a throw, so if I weren’t able to sell it for close to what I paid, I likely wouldn’t spend the money.
I didn’t even think that I’ve spent too much on yoyos before I happen to purchase peaks…My limit so far is 1.2k for 28s peak. I don’t think I will ever beat that number😅
