It is the same size and weight as all my favorite monometals, and performs just as well. Most plastics in its price range are just too big and bulky. The Dove is about as perfect as a premium plastic can get, IMO.

Freehand One. It’s like the perfect beginner yoyo, and as a more skilled player it forces your execution to be cleaner. So it’s both a great learning and practice tool. They’re also just fun to play, with a nostalgic feel.
Metals are pretty much always going to be better than plastics in terms of performance, so I feel like the FH1 hits a great niche by not trying to compete with metals. It’s not trying to compete with metals, instead it’s just offering a small bearing high walled organic to let you play with the tools the oldschool players worked with. It still spins for long enough that you should be able to hit the vast majority of your tricks on it, and if you can’t, that’s a skill issue on your end.

for unresponsive, I like too many to pick one.

My current favorite plastic is the Doc Pop Thing for Modern Responsive.
Been playing the YYF Arrow unresponsive lately.
This is subject to change once new plastics are acquired.

For fixies at the moment, it has to be either a Duncan Pro-Yo or the Kasm.
For unresponsive it’s hard to beat the 000, but I do like the Skyva and iCEBERG a lot.
Responsive I’d probably go with the Doc Pop Thing or FH1.
