What was your experience like at your first ever Yoyo contest?

Was something else let me tell ya. It like discovering your people, your long lost people if that makes sense. Talking to people that speak you’re language and know what you know about yo-yos. I went to cal states before coming to the forums so I could really talk to other yoyoers.

I was hungover but it was fun. Made some good deals.
It was definitely special. I really felt like i “belong”.
I didnt get my freestyle clean but i still enjoyed hanging out and sharing tricks with others!

It was amazing to see so many other throwers, their I learned the fun way that I was not nearly as good as I though I was. It was a fun experience and now that I do Yoyo competitively on top of my skill going up, its more fun now, all starting with that Virginia state 2018
