What trick are you working on?

Well, I don’t know how to explain it. I would recommend you not to pinch the string while doing it. It was an error I made when I was learning it, and we all tend to pinch it. I would recommend you to see tutorials and pay atention to the movements of both hands. Good luck!

I know to do horizontal skin the gerbil, and it took a good six months to get down. the tricks is to practice as much as you can, though I can not tell you what a good video is

Yeah it’s just intimidating to see the intense horizontals at competitions and barely be able to do basic stuff.

I think horizontal stuff is incredibly cool and seems like a lot of fun. You’re probably right though, it’ll get easier with practice.

Yeah I just had the realization I can probably use that element to transition back from tricks with wraps on my throwhand finger back to a position where I can bind.

Oh I missed the part where you said you can do horizontal skin the gerbil.

If you can do that what exactly do you want help with?

Because I can’t do much more than some rail/brain twister combos or like basic 1.5/DON stuff :joy:

Possibly a dumb question…but is 3a horizontal a thing?

I think I saw some horizontal 3A stuff in the worlds freestyles.

Multiple people have done a thing where one yoyo is horizontal and one isn’t.

Actual 3a horizontal, Hajimes the only person that can do it, in competition anyway. The last 15 seconds of his worlds routine has it.

This is great! I’ve been wanting to focus my practice sessions more lately too!

His freestyles in 2017 and 2018 were a lot more dense but theres stuff from that freestyle I can actually learn from

His 2019 worlds was less packed in terms of tricks but every single trick from that routine is way over my ability :joy:

I tried to do slack trapeze a couple months ago and quickly quit in frustration.
Tried it out again today and started to land them pretty consistently after just 2 attempts

This one looks super cool! Took me a few knot inducing tries…but after 5 or so minutes I started to get it! Not nearly as smooth as I’d like…but it’s something I’m going to start spending a little time each day on…I’ll get it smooth eventually.
Can’t wait to show this one off to my life coach haha

And althought it’s going to take me something like 20’ish years to get this full trick down…I’m also going to start working on White Buddha.

I’m finally getting back to Eli Hops. I can land it pretty consistently, but I haven’t yet gotten the hang of the rhythm of it to do the whole shoot-shoot-shoot one after the other thing.

Gonna take a break on hooks, and try to get back into the rhythm of fidget spinner and get 360 above the head whip more consistently
