What trick are you working on?

I’ve caught the slack several times but I get stuck there. Haven’t been able to determine how to proceed before the yo-yo goes off plane. But as long as I’m catching it I can move forward. It’s fun to try something new. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Nice, check that matrix brother slack link above for a couple ways to follow up after you catch the slack.

Was going to post matrix as well, I feel like it’s a barrier trick that opens up a lot of other concepts when you’re beginning.

Skin the gerbil is another cool looking but simple motion! @Slestak75

I’m catching the Slack Brother fairly regularly. I’ve not gotten the dismounts in the video as yet but I’ve been working on my own dismounts. Mild brain damage causes me to lose track of everything if I don’t have some sort of muscle memory or idea of where to go but I’ll get there. Learning something new isn’t impossible, just impossibly difficult. I’ve even been doing well with my Deep State on this one. I’ll continue with the recommendations made here and thank those who made them. It’s been fun adding something new.

I also figured a natural progression from Brother would be to hop strings back and forth. This has been a fun challenge too. Also started learning Skin the Gerbil. All adding new elements that put new ideas in my head.

I just started working on candy rain the other day. What an interesting long trick. The first magic drop part has been tough to get consistently. I cant stand when the reject doesn’t happen and a floppy yoyo slams into my hand. Sometimes I find myself getting confused if I repeated a part because how similar the elements are and there is a repeater of sorts in the middle. This trick kinda reminds me of something like a harder version of rewind in terms of the technical skills it uses. I think it’s a good trick to learn to help get better at yoyoing.

Hello.
I have been struggling with the Ky Zizan bind for the last 4 days. Only landed twice. Any tips are welcome guys.

Hmmm never heard of that bind before. You got a vid? Maybe it’s got a different name also.

Probably the recess video one. I skipped it a long time ago before I hardly knew any binds but now I might try it out.

Him saying I can’t believe I hit that first try made me nervous last time I watched it hah

I’m landing beef hook way more often now! Still workin on it but I understand what I need to do. The ones I land are mostly clean though!

I have seen this a million times. Still cannot get it. I have personally asked from Mike (throw lab channel) to make a tutorial and he kindy did.

Still cannot hit it. Always end up with an axle knot.

Here is a slowmo video with an extra throw and easy bind at the end to show that the whip bind came out clean. Maybe it might help. Notice how I have the string over my TH index. I think that helps keep the string lined up properly. Mechanically, if you’re getting a knot, you must be throwing the laceration either too far forward or backwards and the entire loop has to stay lined up with the gap. A strong whip is needed to wrap the loop around the bearing enough to actually engage the response. I don’t have this super consistent but I’m not getting axle knots or missing terribly. The main problem that goes wrong when I miss, is that the string makes a good sound like it’s going to bind, but then slips so I still have work to do.

Hope this helps good luck!

Oh and for the thread, I’ve been working on seasick. I felt how it should feel yesterday for a bit and thought I was starting to get it but I can’t find the rhythm today yet. Bah it’s a frustrating trick.

on that doc pop kick, i’m getting better at branding. found that if you just whip from 1.5 mount the extra wrap you normally avoid in the full trick puts the strings in a perfect spot to slide my throw hand thumb into the wrap, move from 1.5 into a double or nothing and then roll out into magic drop. i love finding the connectedness between different yoyo tricks.

Thanks a lot dude. As far as sea sick goes I never had any problem. Just follow the you know who app and you will get it smooth.

I got it once today and twice yesterday thanks to you mate. I figured out what I was doing wrong but I still need to dial it in.

Instead of making the first whip/loop in the space between me and the yoyo, I was making it above the yoyo resulting in a knot.

Will practice the next few days to get it consistently.

Thanks a lot!

Started landing ninja vanish yesterday, and its really pretty simple. but i wanna land it from brother slack which is definitely harder…
