Ironic that when i clicked this forum this video was post was front and center. I just finished learning it, took me about 6 hours because im a noobie (less than 6 months throwin now)
It’s a fun trick. I was unfamiliar with that movement in it that comes after doing the double wrap around the throw arm where theres barely any space to fit the yoyo in the undermount on your nonthrow hand. That part and getting the slack to flick into the yoyo took me a good while too.
New string compared to the 15+ hour used string helps sooo much with this trick I realized the hard way using old string attempting it way too many times. I been trying to think of what trick to go directly into after the slack whips and your in the awkward twisted mount. All I can think is to get out of it go into trapeze and start another trick from there.
I’m bad about moving on to fresh tricks before I have them super duper consistent. Like the easier tricks I learn I can do consistently but I like to learn hard tricks and they definitely are not all consistent. I decided that’s lame so I’ve been grinding a bunch of the tricks I’ve learned recently to higher consistency. I worked on takeshi bounce a ton this weekend and it’s gotten way way more consistent and looks better. Prolly going to stick with that trick plus the couple Yuma tricks I learned recently for a while. Also the flow art style trick for the dopamine giveaway.
Yuuki slack. Took me awhile to figure it out but i got it now! Just gotta practice to hit it consistent.
I finally realized i was grabbing the string closest to me instead of grabbing the actual slack that was traveling around my arm. Also moving my throw hand closer to my non throw hand helped me see that mistake.
Took about 2 years off, spent the last week or so getting caught back up on some old tricks, white buddah was one of my refreshers, kamikaze, candy rain, spirit bomb, im just about back in form and starting to look into combos again
Came back to working on the final part of supercharger tonight. It’s super frustrating but I actually did land it once tonight soon as I put on a new string which was exciting. I’m slightly confused right now because in the yotricks video they say to pop the yoyo slightly but the Diego b video he doesn’t mention that. I popped it up slightly the only time I got it so far. Gonna mess around with it more soon. Needed a break.
I think it does help to pop it up a bit. Not even enough to really have it go up high but just a bit of hang time to give a little extra time for the string to whip around from the one side to the other side of the Yoyo. The timing is a tight tho bc it is a tension element kinda so you want to give it the hang time as you use the tension to help pop the string around and catch the Yoyo. This is a hard element but stick with it and you’ll get it
Thanks man appreciate it. Im gonna keep at it. I didnt realize what I was getting myself into that night I was telling you I started working on it haha. Both tricks I know that start with yuuki slack are no joke!
I love the resources here. I went back and looked at one video and saw right away that I was not anchoring my NTH. I finally got the feel for it and I’m landing it more than 50% on my Deep State. That feels so good!!! Not being able to hit that Double or Nothing was really holding me back. Now I feel like a huge door just opened in front of me. Just don’t any of you come up and kick me through it!!
Just finally got supercharger down. At least for me right now that trick is nearly impossible with the super old strings with 10-15 hours of play I use. New string is like day and night with that trick. Very satisfying to see that string freaking hook.
