What to look for in a 5a throw

What is it that makes a 5a Yo-Yo just that? Why not slap a counterweight on your favorite throw? Is it a certain shape or a certain gap size?

Slap it on whatever and go for it!

Sure, that’ll work. But understand that 5A yoyos notoriously get beat to a pulp. So, if your favorite yoyo is a one of a kind, maybe go for one you’d be willing to beat the tar out of.

That’s where my thought process is heading.

Now THAT is good advice. Don’t drop $400 bucks just yet.

I like h shaped for 5a. The yoyo has to be pretty stable, and h shaped doesn’t hurt your body as much as a v shaped when something goes wrong and you take a yoyo to the knee.
