What is the best yoyo brand?

What brand is the best, is it a common one like yoyofactory or something a little more classy like motion.

I think the best yoyo brand…is the one you like the most. I just started throwing again back in August after a 10+ year hiatus, so I don’t own a lot of yo-yos nor have I thrown a lot companies’ stuff. But just from the 4-5 brands and the yo-yos I’ve bought recently, I don’t think there’s a bad one. Each company seems to have one or two yo-yos that are just amazing nowadays, and you don’t necessarily have to spend an arm and leg to achieve the performance you want.

They’re mostly all amazing and most Yoyo brands are just people making yo-yos because they love it which is super cool to me. I like to see all the people pushing the boundaries and innovating or just making really really good yo-yos or making affordable yo-yos to aid accessibility.

Okay I semi take this back lol, there are a few weird brands on the rainforest website and such that I’d avoid, but in terms of the main stuff I don’t think so.

Its Motion for sure!

All joking aside, ill echo the above… it’s whatever you think appeals to you the most and whatever you can afford. The best brand is the one you can get your hands on the easiest and keep learning tricks to keep you down this rabbithole of an awesome hobby… like Motion does for me!

I would think yoyofactory just because of how much they 've contributed to the contest scene and yoyo design for the last 20 years.

There are some with some bad vibes or that take less than great stances. Not going to start any long conversation there. There are plenty of knock off companies or groups in it for the money pumping out generic garbage or similar to mainstream design as fast as they can make them.

However, all of the mainstream and most boutique brands are fantastic.

Motions great, Zero Gravity is fantastic, one drop, yoyo factory. The list goes on and I know i’m missing some fantastic companies, but the thing is yoyo is not a profitable business. nearly no ones making it big in yoyo. The profit margins are small and the market cap in this niche of a subcategory is tiny. Most yoyo companies and folk are doing this cause they love the hobby and have a day job.

Of the cheap potential knock off yo-yos I’ve purchased Watieoboo is not the worst.

AR-T :-1:. They lost this one time fan.

So many great companies today and the quality is top notch for a good portion of them. I’d agree with @yoyojoe and give it to Yoyofactory for the same reason, they do so much for the scene.

My favorite boutiques are ATMOS and RSO.

I also have a shout out for OD. Best bearing seats hands down. I never fear stripping an axle on any of their stuff. Side effects are so cool too.

Yoyofactory, Duncan, C3, TopYo. I can’t pick a best yoyo brand.

My respect goes to the brands that are spreading yoyo to new players. Sponsoring contest, promoting yoyoing on social media, producing yoyos at a highly accessible price point, and pushing modern yoyo design forward.

They’re not just making good yoyos, they’re helping grow the hobby.

Regarding only ‘pure performance’ turning point will be the answer, however the throw could be somehow boring and heavy so I agree the comment above saying ‘best maker will be what you like the most’
For me, I like TP and YJ the best
