What brands do you recommend?

I feel like YYF, One Drop, and CLYW are the anchors of the YoYo world and many other brands get slept on. I say this because when I look for new throws to pick up, I’m always steered towards those few brands.

not that it’s a bad thing, but I would love to go outside what I’m comfortable with to pick up and discover new brands and interests. what would yall recommend?

Huge yoyofriends fan, would love to try more W1ld yoyos too, the Wilderness 7075 is so good. Can’t forget G2 either, US based, great community, yoyos are some of the most fun I’ve used.

The people behind yoyofriends, W1LD & dreamcraft and so many of the cats on their teams are either the nicest, most generous, or most solid people I’ve met in the yoyo community - and a lot of them are all 3! Proud to call some of them friends and happy to support when I know the people behind these companies are great people… cause that is definitely not true of all brands, as sad as that is to say!

Couldn’t be more true of CLYW & OD as well (CLYW is my fav brand period, and has been since I was a kid) but I know you were mentioning you’d like to branch out beyond them.

Highly recommend checking out the Canopy Collection as well, it’s a sub brand between CLYW and Atmos and they’ve produced my favorite line of yoyos period for a few years now. Plus Harrison who runs it is genuinely one of the best dudes I’ve met in the community and you can tell he really cares.

Really great suggestions here already. I would like to add Featherspin and Sengoku to the list, having a lot of fun with their throws.

Huge fan of W1LD and YoYoFriends, really smooth and nice yo-yos. Love everything they are doing
Also Vosun should get more attention as they are doing really good yo-yos for a decent price.
Vosun Super Artura is my current favourite.

Fairy new here but Motion is my personal favourite brand that I find myself wanting to recommend to others and support with my money!

From enjoyable throws at a great price point with beautiful/fun ano (hibiscus pictures attached) to a wonderful owner/team, it’s a brand I wish I saw more people enjoying! A sign that the people who get them enjoy them also is how long hunting these down is going to take me lol :joy:

No hate to other brands this is just my personal recommendation! So many good brands out here that it’s hard to go wrong with some small research into a brand! it’s just the one I plan to not miss a drop from :fire: my YoYo money always feels well spent

as I’m sure you’re starting to see you can’t ask for a recommendation in this hobby without it turning into just a full list of what options are available without narrowing anything down for you. doesn’t matter what part you are talking about (cept maybe axles) the yoyo, the bearing, the response, there will be someone to recommend each version of whatever you’re taking about

just buy what you think looks dope and makes you want to pick it up and play. that’s all that matters. there are almost no wrong answers, at least for a long time til you develop personal preference or needs. personally it took me 2 years to internalize the message but i finally did recently and im happier with my collection than I’ve ever been

gl with your hunt and i hope you find something that gives you the feels :victory_hand:

Big on OD! but MK1, Dressel Designs, Featherspin, Dreamcraft, Shuriken, Atmos, & (although a bit pricey) Enso yoyo’s are all amazing!

Mk1, Edition, and Motion.

Yoyorecreation if you want some premium Japanese yoyos.

Laid Back Swing is my favorite Japanese boutique and no ones mentioned it yet so gonna throw them out there too.

There’s another brand that’s on the tip of my tongue but it’s escaping me at the moment :winking_face_with_tongue:

I am biased (on team Return Bottoms) but I love the creativity and I like their responsive yoyos as it’s my style, but they have some fresh unresponsives too that can swap to responsive easily and excel at both. Charity aspect is cherry on top
