What film/movie/series did you last watch?

On MLK Day, we took my daughter and two of the grandkids to see the new Spider-Man movie - in 3D. What a blast! I’m not a huge fan of superhero movies, but this one was a lot of fun, and the 3D was awesome.

Nobody just dropped on HBOmax and it’s a really fun movie. I love seeing comedians take on more serious roles (even if this one was a bit tongue in cheek).

My wife also made me watch the entire series of Grey’s Anatomy and we FINALLY finished last night. I have watched nearly 400 hours of Grey’s Anatomy. It’s an ok show but it was a slog towards the end.

My wife and tried watching Grimm when it was first being aired. But thought it was meh.

But when we were able to binge more than one episode at a time we loved it.

Don’t know if it’s just that we are happily married but Monroe and Rosalie are our favorite characters.

We are currently watching it episode by episode again in the mornings before work. It fits in perfect to watch while having breakfast.

Oh I totally agree! I finished it last week and Monroe was definitely my favorite character. Wu and Hank were also pretty great! Wu’s responses and one liners were hilarious. Especially in the later seasons as things progress.

If you haven’t been informed or researched the opioid crisis or Oxycontin, check it out. For s & giggles I went to buy a bass boat in 2018. Took back roads as the interstate for fun and hours of extra driving. Stopped in a small town gas station. Their little news paper headline was ‘more oxycontin rx than people in the county’. I ask the attendant if that was true. They said every family in the county had issues with the drug. Either hooked, selling, or dead. Every family. The book it was based on -

If you want to watch a movie, check out ‘Body Brokers’. The rehab industries multi billion dollar work. When I was a teen the kickbacks went to parents putting their kids in them, many who had no drug problems or even drugs in their system. But insurance paid! Up to $2300 a week and parents got 30% back from the rehab centers. Watch the movie and see what they’re up too now!

Edit: On that Hulu -
Solar Opposites! If you like Rick and Morty, should make you laugh.

I’ve seen so many memes from it, I finally caved and watched “I think you should leave” on Netflix. Hilarious.

I recommned it if you like absurd humour, sketch comedy and some good old cringe. I also just recommed that everyone in the community watch episode two of season two. There’s a sketch in there that’s relevant to how I feel about yoyos sometimes. Anyway, bought my first Titanium yoyo, it has very pretty colours…

Just finished the new season of Russian Doll. I highly recommend it even though Natasha Leone talks and acts like a caricature of an old man from NYC who used to be a street tough or something.

We finally watched Spider-Man No Way Home. Glad we rented and didn’t buy. Since the Infinity War and End Game I have been so “meh” about Marvel. Just wondering when their bubble is gonna pop like the Fantastic Beasts series.

The Batman

Pattinson looked good in the batsuit and I liked the “modern noir” feel of it all. I also liked that it didn’t bother with origin story stuff. The Batmobile, such as it was, was pretty awesome, but this was definitely not the usual gadget-heavy Batman we’re accustomed to. I’m fine with that, but in a lot of ways this didn’t feel at all like Batman. The movie felt longer than it needed to be, and the villain wasn’t nearly as compelling as, say, Ledger’s Joker, but overall I’d give the movie a solid B.

I liked it also.

This may seem like a small stretch, but part of why I liked it, is because there was no form of supernatural or superhuman with anything in this movie. It was as if this entire story could have played out in real life. Not saying the same couldn’t be said about some of the prior ones, but there also wasn’t a goofy factor it anything too outlandish to feel unreal or too fake. So yeah, what I’m saying is, put on a show for us Elon Musk.

I’ve been watching Better Call Saul. I love it, a lot. And I don’t want ruin anything about it.

The Batman is tricky, as you get closer to realism you run into the inherent absurdity of superheroes…

I was also surprised how heavily they leaned into the love story here. Gotta be the first big Batman reboot with such an emphasis on the love part. I remember Vicky Vale was in 1988 Batman but Catwoman is practically co-starring in this one…

I also found it odd that the movie is based on Batman: Year One, and I guess it honors the general intent of the book (who are the bad guys?), but deviates in a bunch of ways too…

Finished the Pentaverate on Netflix the other night. Mike Myers is still hilarious. The silliest show I’ve seen in a while. Lots of good cameos too.
