I have the BST blocked, so I havenโt noticed this trendโฆ but now that you mention it, there do be a whole buncha them.
I figure they are just very collectible and have so many incredible splash patterns people get in a frenzy snatching them up and then end up with too many.

My guess is that this is a just a natural result of the Patreon subscriptions. People want the exclusive/early access, but not necessarily every individual yo-yo.

Yep. After the most recent public statements from YYF Iโve resolved to no longer make purchases at any retailer that stocks them. Even YYE unfortunately. I just canโt be complicit in these kind of public statements. Iโll shop direct with friendly brands.

Ok you guys intrigued me to see this G2 / bst.
Hereโs the numbers for sale on posts bumped under 24 hours ago.
Quick thoughts are -
G2 sells a lot more yo-yos than you think. Possibly because we only sell direct.
G2 is always listed in the title if they are for sale. Often others are in the โand moreโ
Sometimes a collector sells off a chunk to raise funds. This can skew the number for sale counts I did.
Mostly itโs just G2 sticks out in your head with you see it so you think there is more.
Interesting thought experiment.

I would argue one of the reasons high value YoYoโs get sold often is because they retain value better so G2 showing up shows they are keeping the values. I rarely see folks selling many G2 under $100 unless itโs damaged or the person is trying to get quick cash.
you see allot of old playmaxx, tk and other collectible stuff on eBay but thatโs mostly the same reason the collectors who arenโt on the forum are trying to get equity out of stuff that actually retained value.
With that said I like that Jake pulled the numbers. Iโm not surprised by his itโs shapped up

Iโve had several listed like new in box for months under $80 that havenโt sold. I finally tossed the boxes and gave the pins away. Ended up keeping a ton because they wonโt sell.
That said, I still enjoy G2 for sure, and several will never leave my collection.

If everyone selling g2 on the bst commissioned Jake to sell their yoyos theyโd be gone instantly. He is the man, the myth, the legend, and it speaks to how much of the brand relies on Jake vs Jake relying on his products. He really has his market figured out!!

Canโt go wrong with anything from Recess, Jake Bullock, or Freshly Dirty. Also, Iโm a huge OhYesYo fan and they should be having anew yoyo drop on the Recess site in the near future!

i see this happening for me 2
I personally love Jigun/Lep yoyos but they barely offer anything beyond the Asia Pacific region my other fave is Wi1D, SUS Mechanics and Lead.
I donโt make endorsements without being paid in cash. So far all brands have overlooked the power of my influence in the yoyo world and have not sent me any briefcases full of cash, so Iโm afraid I canโt recommend any brands at this time.
