Both the g funk and shutter have low walls (I might be wrong)

The shutter is a low wall yoyo. Low walls are geared for a better competition style.
Here is a gfunk picture

Here is a cascade and a summit, both known to have high walls.

Actually, Cascade, and summit, along with the Gfunk are Mid walls.
It’s a small wall, not a large wall.
But the shutter has almost NO wall. So Thats how you know It’s a low wall

A high wall is like a dm2… id call the g funk a midwall if not a low wall, seems low enough to me

TouchƩ.

So, is the shutter hard with rejections because of that?

indeed. the high wall is easy to reject, since the string can rub against the wall, cause more friction, and pushes the string better.

I hate rejections, they’re not nice to me…

Now that i practice a bit more I can still do magic drop about 85% of the time. So thats good. I guess there are pros and cons for both high walls and low walls. High walls are good for rejections and low walls are good for horizontal.

Tbh i think high walls are only superior to low walls at rejections and regens… low walls is better at everything else… longer spin times, more stability, better horizontal, etc.

Thats why high walls dont sell too well… its all bout da mid and low walls <3

I find regens easier on the shutter than the g funk actually. I guess its because of the size? In gentry’s video he does a few regens too… I don’t remember if he does any rejections… I doubt it. Its not his style.

I’m thinking of using my g funk for 5a. Is that a bad idea for any reason?

I havent tried it and I dont hearmuch about it… im assuming the shutter is better for 5a since its probably more stable… nothing wrong with using a g funk for 5a though.

My shutter is just so pretty i don’t want to use it for 5a cuz im still a beginner in it and i drop it alot.

Well the G funk would work for 5a, its not like it cant do it

Haha ok ill probably end up using it. I’m not a huge hater of dings. I don’t mind them really. But if I used my shutter for 5a now it would get like 10 in 1 day. My g funk already has a miliion.

Got any cheap plastics or only those 2? I mean heck, a ONE is good for 5a. Classics are nice, protostars (advanced because they crack easily)…

Throwing a Raptor today! Hope it doesn’t get any dings because its one of my 1 of 2 mint yoyos :)…

I have a one and whip, but they don’t sleep long enough. I have 2 protostars and a northstar( which i got on ebay all 3 for 37$), 1 protostar doesn’t sleep that long and is super loud (same as the northstar) (they both were bought willingly like this), i used to have one good protostar, but when I tried to take the spacer off the bearing I messed it up and now it is like crazy vibe and wobble and loud ( way worse than my other 2) so really my only good long sleeping throws now are my g funk and shutter. Is there a way to get the spacer that is not connected to the bearing (the one on the other side) off the yoyo? I could take that off of one of the originaly bad ones and put it on the used-to-be good bad one.
