What are you doing today?

Today:
-Making a frustratingly hard but very simple designed Mario Maker 2 level utilizing slippery ice blocks…1 slip and it could send you back to the beginning of the level or to your death
-Reading up on our new Shelter-in-Place guidelines which have been extended to May 3 for CA. Such regulations are now a bit stricter - too many people have not been taking this serious and have either all flocked to public parks or beaches, or over the weekend, crowded around for “car sideshows”…face palm…
-Looking for some new tricks to learn to keep the yoyoing fresh

Was thinking about this vid earlier. Be warned its minorly graphic. Fitting though and a relatively unknown promo video for. Deftones album White Pony.
-edit-
Actually more graphic than I thought. Use the words. Go find it.
Just not here maybe😉.

Was it lyrically graphic, or visually? Or both?

Oh nice one! I am a very casual DnD player, my girlfriend however has really really got into it and is even a DM now. The fun with it is you can play it as seriusly or as casually as you like and the important thing is to have fun!

Workin’ on art stuff today. It’s sunny and mild and this morning I woke up feeling genuinely happy! I usually wake up with an ominous feeling of absolute dread of having to face another day. Today I feel charged up. Maybe two cups of strong coffee is making me say all this…

I got a email today from a friend of my father’s. Last year i sent him a yoyo as a gift after he saw my father share one of my videos… i told this guy to check out this site for tutorials etc… after a few months he sent me a video of his progress, he had taught himself ZIPPer off my terrible videos (he’s. A vey talented professional dancer) …i insisted he check out this site and consider getting a better yoyo…
Today he purchased MYY k1 and 2 tom kuhn SB2s to start his collection.
Im very excited to have brought aother Fiend into the community.

Haha I was learning Zipper last night actually.

So there are 2 “Covid House Arrest” experiments I started since yesterday.

  1. I am going back and ticking off all the tricks starting from basic ones that I missed in “relative” difficulty order. We have been focusing on tricks in trick a week that skips a lot of basics (depending on your starting level) so I want to go back and make sure o have fundamentals down.

  2. I find myself using the same yoyos most of the time. So I am limiting to 1 yoyo for 3~5 days each and getting to know all my yoyos a little better. Started with the plastic Dove.
Ones I don’t really like as much I’ll sell. Ones that are expensive but I don’t necessarily need I’ll sell. And keep those I like or so goes the aim at the moment.

Good idea. I’ve been horribly distracted lately and my throwing has been horrendously abyssmal and I was putting so much pressure on myself which just had negative results. I am just going back to the first 3 low level intermediate tricks I ever learned (they took me loong time to learn) and trying to hit them cleanly every time and just be happy with that. For me those tricks are: Barrel Rolls, Split the Atom, and Mach 5. If I remain perfectly on plane I will try add more moves to each trick. To me, in these times, I find no need to add unecessary pressure to my day while engaging in a hobby that is supposed to be a calming and rewarding distraction.

Finally finished this Dam Removal & Stream Restoration! I’ve been living in a tent in the woods and bathing in a creek for two weeks to avoid hotels!
