In less than 2 weeks it’ll be my 2 year anniversary of learning Brain Twister on this YYT Sage set up responsive. I am trying to do all the things I learned since then on the same Sage (responsive) and it brought back a lot of the same optimistic enthusiasm I had two years ago.
Awesome! Is that for baseball? I used something like that when I was younger!
It is. I have a pretty big park across the street from me too.
You play baseball?
Nope, I’m 49. I like to play catch though and none of my friends do.
The movie theater I go to opened up a week ago. Today, I went to the movies for the first time since early March. Only 2 other people were in the theater. All concessions were about 45% off too. Large popcorn, large Diet Coke, baby! The movie was great too.
I have discovered that high quality disc golf disc are cheaper than high quality yoyos.
Just seems so abstract to me. But then again I really can’t remember the last time I went to a theater - was well before our invisible friend arrived.
Messed with some yoyo stuff today - not so much of coming up with new tricks but messing with some elements I haven’t touched in a little while. Also went out skating this evening as the skies are finally looking a little bit better in the Bay Area - since it’s been hit and miss, finding that I really haven’t progressed much stamina-wise. A little bit of a bummer but my routine has been so out of whack. Trying to work on propelling myself backwards, which is not easy, requires more strength in the legs than I thought.
I feel like those twins from The Shining are gonna come down that hall.
Oh, they did. They. Did.
Number of things today - preordered Mario 3D allstars…there’s definitely going to be scalpers. I plan on playing the game and enjoying it while not supporting 3rd parties
Pre-ordered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (literally day before it drops) so I can play the demo. Man this game is fun, hit me right in the feels, brought me back to freshman year in high school…nostalgic about this game. THPS2 took what made the original good and made it even better. Hope Spidey is in the remake.
Put some time in again on the skates, working on backwards transitions and trying to actually propel myself backwards/turn. It’s a little scary once you get rolling.
I was just outside and ran into the guy (early 20’s) who lives next door who I gave 2 yoyos to a month and a half ago. He picked up binding, front mount, sbm, brain twister very quickly. We used to throw together every few days but I haven’t seen him in weeks. I saw his mom a week ago and asked if he was still practicing and she said yes and he might need more string so I gave her a handful to give him. This morning I told him I had a new yoyo to give him if he was still throwing. He said he was going away for 3 days and showed me the 2 yoyos I gave him in his backpack. I ran inside and brought out a new red MYY V6 Locus (which I love) with a concave bearing in it and new Kitty String on it. He was pretty happy. It made my day to see he was bringing his yoyos on his trip! I have an extra Shutter to give him if he is still throwing in 2 months.
That’s awesome. It always feels good to spread the gospel.
He picked up basics extremely quickly. Things that took me a LONG time to learn by watching videos. I think in-person teaching speeds up the learning process by 75%. I struggled with barrel rolls for over a month and when I met a real thrower he taught me in 10 minutes.
It’s hard to beat an “in person” teacher.
that is amazing! Good job on getting him into throwing!
Not so much what I am doing, but what I should do. Cleaning. I played keyboard quite a while, and waiting for my son to wake up. He will eat, cleaning not so much.
