What are you doing today?

Aside from breathing in some of California’s finest air (still been smoky), decided to go out for a little skate this evening to actually put some miles in on my new skates…took a spill but this time with protective gear…just went sliding

This evening, saw a snippet from a TV show called “Tell the Truth” or something like that…the particular round on the game show involved having to guess which of the 2 “mystery people” were a yoyo world champ. I knew right away which one it was as Gentry Stein was one of them. He then did a little demo for the audience with his Replay Pro

I predict Gentry becomes a TV mega celebrity in the next few years!

I live at the base of the Wind River Mountain range here in Wyoming. Use to get up into the mountains to sit by a campfire with my mom quite a lot during the summers. We tried going up at least once a week.
Have only been up a couple of times in the past few years since she’s passed. I keep wanting to go up, but I don’t really want to go with anyone else. It was a me and mom kinda thing you know? And it’s not a whole heck of a lot of fun sitting by a campfire alone.

Anyhow I’m heading up for a drive with some friends today. There’s a road that goes all the way up, around and back down the mountains that makes for a nice drive. We’ll stop by a couple of lakes, have some lunch and just enjoy the ride.

It’d do me a world of good to spend more time up in the mountains again.

do you play animal crossing by any chance @mystik? I’m stupid levels of hooked to that damn game.

Only game I play with animals in is Monster Hunter. If I can’t ride it like a bronco, kill it, and then make pants from it- I’m not with it.

Edit: I actually play a lot of game genres. I’m just not into life Sims. Plus games with certain art styles or free to play(I believe it damages the market)

I have a draft of his new book, The People of Yoyo, and it’s awesome. It’s a book everyone here will want. It will be highly sought after in 15 years because it encapsulates so much of our current scene - how it works and contains a lot of info and words from the movers and shakers of the yoyo scene.

I’m looking forward to that as well! I’m about 20pages into “Boutique” and can say I’m hooked. I’m not usually much of a reader( it’s hard for me to be still😉), but this is gonna be devoured.

Got a quality skate session in today, bumping my routine from 3 miles to 4 as I get acquainted with skating again. Had GPS go wonky on me though and not record my distance (I knew what I did). On the flipside, on what it did record, I was pleasantly surprised to see my top speed increasing. While nothing earth shattering, was a bit shocked to see that I was going 16mph.

Other than that, picked up a yoyo, kind of in a little rut right now with new tricks…messed with a couple tricks and then watched some South Park episodes.

I had something like that when I was growing up in New Jersey. It was called a Pitch Back. I loved it!

Today I am doing the same thing that I did yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. I’m looking at my house and thinking “I really need to get out of this recliner and clean this place.” … … … Maybe tomorrow.

There’s no better day than the day AFTER tomorrow!

I spent the day organizing music gear. Put together a few guitars that I had in pieces for various reasons. Tested some pedals if I really want to keep them or get rid of them. Trying to clean the main playing area turned into a lost cause as I now have more junk laying on the floor than I did at the beginning of the day. I’m also trying to figure out/inventory what of my gear is where as I have guitars and pedals in three cities; every time I think I lost something it turns up at another location.

I had one of those when I was a kid, albeit yours looks way nicer than what I had. Spent countless hours throwing to that thing. I’d always aim for the bottom of the net so the ball came back to me as a pop fly.

You can adjust it for pop flies, grounders and of course line drives.

ah cool. My old thing was curved but not adjustable. Throw at the top for a grounder, throw at the bottom for a pop fly, throw right at the middle square to get hit in the face (as I found out once or twice).

That’s funny, man.
