What are you doing today?

I wonder if this affects a persons emotional state.

Without a doubt. Your thoughts are just energy vibrating at a certain rate. If in proximity to low vibration external forces it causes you to resonate with this force.

Yes try to keep your cell phone away from you whenever possible. The radiation that comes off phones os horrible for your body. It slowly destroys your brain and it messes with many other vital body functions. Avoid carrying it around in your pocket for too long too. Carry it in your bag and not your person

Gardening😎 working on attracting hummingbirds to my yard so we got these plants today.

And I got them potted too.

Let’s hope the little swords in flight like them as much as I do🌈

The college-aged kids that litter my department every summer are constantly noodling with their phones and they are the unhappiest bunch of depressed kids I’ve ever seen. They get worse every summer. Lifeguards have been fired for being on their phones and after numerous warnings they act devastated when they are fired.

Cell phone/social media use creates a dopamine addiction as powerful as any drug. It literally changes your brain chemistry like a narcotic.

I think I have a legit addiction to the internet and it kills my drive to do more things in life. /sigh

Have 3 jalapeno plants producing now so I am swimming in peppers. Decided to try my hand at making hot sauce. Just finished my second batch - added some tomatillos, various spices, and lime juice in addition to the usual stuff to give it more flavor and temper the heat a little. Turned out pretty good.

I’m in the same situation, only grew 4 plants this year (2 havasu and 2 golden cayenne), but they’re producing a crazy amount of peppers.

I just finished making a fermented hot sauce that came out great and is very easy. If you like fermented things I’d highly recommend it. Just make a brine and throw in all the peppers/garlic/herbs you want and let it sit on the counter for about a week, blend and you’re done. You can google lacto fermented hot sauce for a bunch of recipes.

Will it be available in the YYE shop any time soon?

I’ve made fermented hot sauces maybe a dozen times, but never with my own peppers. Probably all in my head, but it just tastes better knowing I grew them all haha.

That makes sense. I never tried to make my own hot sauce before about a week ago, but I 100% know it tastes better to me than it will others because the I grew the chief ingredient and made it myself, even if it’s a tweaked version of a recipe I found online.

All 3 of my plants are very different - peppers are different shapes, sizes, spiciness, etc. My first year growing them (and tomatoes), so it’s been a trip. I have a bunch of peppers that I let redden on the vine of my hottest plant that I am going to use for an entirely different sauce once I have a few more ready. I think I may try to offset the pure heat a little with some homegrown sweet yellow cherry tomatoes and some brown sugar.

Sounds good in theory, but it could be trash. I’m a total n00b.

If you remove the seeds/pith from the peppers and just use the flesh you’ll get a much milder sauce. That’s where most of the capsaicin is. I usually leave half the peppers whole and half with all the seeds removed to get a good balance of heat.

Yeah, I haven’t bothered with removing seeds yet. Will likely end up doing that with the hotter plant.
