So I did some baby sitting again today. After the kiddos mastered the regular front throw, I taught them how to do the forward toss. They learned that one really quick. Really proud pf them!!

Hopped back on the skates today for a trial run in the parking lot around the corner (as opposed to going around the block and risk eating it)…Logged 1.5 miles before my legs turned into jello, felt myself getting a little wobbly at that point so it was time to stop. While on smooth ground, I’m still rebuilding up that confidence again as well as my stamina. But hey, it’s a start! The mile went by so quick too. Tomorrow I shall do the same, with adding in some music so I have some entertainment while I skate

Haven’t experienced any snake farts yet but I did see a few wide-open mouths from her, including when I was handling her last night…a little unnerving but she’s far from aggressive so I’m not too worried.

Not just today, but ongoing for awhile…
They’re doing major surgery on my street - gas, water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer. Gas was done in April/May time frame, mostly installed in the boulevards with cross road punching as needed. Then the heavy lifting started…

The Komatsu PC 490 excavator operator is an artist. He could pick up a feather off the lawn and not damage either one. I guess I have too much time on my hands. On the other hand, I have an intimate interest in all of this.
The pics document installing one utility line. Don’t know which. When they get to the end of the street they will start again at my end for the next piece. Don’t know why they don’t do them all at once and get it over with.

This morning (just after “zero dark hundred”) I ordered myself a Custom Axl Elite and Reactor - 2 yoyos that caught my interest in the 90s that seemed more affordable yet at the same time, no way was I going to convince the parents to spend $30-60 on a throw. Heard some positive stuff about them for modern responsive so today, they still seem like a relevant option and something to add to my collection.
Woke up in a rather blah mood after having a dream that I had returned to work back to doing my normal duties - creating stuff for our parks’ shows and filming our shows for the archives…'Twas only a dream that is so far out of reach…Combine that with waking up realizing that the end of the extra $1200/month is creeping fast and will be facing quite a downgrade and seeing some laughable “assistance” that is supposedly in the works (Are us unemployed folks who are barred from our careers some kind of joke to them?). Rant over on this stuff, just gotta roll with the punches now.
On the much lighter/more positive side of things, my journey back into rollerblading was a productive one today. Still not even remotely fit and easing myself back into the swing of things, I’ve been logging miles/distance skated and trying to improve distance while improving my form. Today I hit 2.23 miles (I had actually last hit 2 miles the day before the fall, was a bit leery getting back on the wheels after the fall). It’s baby steps but it’s progress and my body is feeling better with each productive session.
