Hey guys! After 6 years of yoyoing I have finally broken something with my yoyo
Still finding pieces of glass on the floor
Very cool - I wish you were a little nearer, I could do with your help!
See! You do have fans of your yoyoing!
Working at one of my resorts outdoor pools checking people in and reading a lot between skimming the pool. I used to throw a lot here but the humidity makes the string funky and just simple moves feel weird. Oh, well.
Photo is from last summer before I opened.
Just got done cleaning this beautiful wooden wizard tobacco pipe. Iāvee probably had this 12 or 14 years, got it at Texas Renaissance Festival.
- tobacco is for adults mmmkay
Was going to get back to my rollerblading today but figured Iād take 1 more day to recover. That and the demon I have to face, being the area I wiped out. It made me kind of leery of my neighborhood as there are quite a bit of cracks, particularly ones that run parallel in the direction Iām going. I just need to suck it up and face it or take a drive to a nice park to get some skating in. I do have my protective gear and helmet finally.
Instead, I messed with my Pop Art a little bit. This thing is stupid easy to kickflip, been pretty consistent doing them.
Yes. get some protective gear. I remember getting a big bloody knee because I was not wearing any when I fell.
Face your demonš
A healthy fear is a positive in many physical things. You got this @AngryGumball!
So, yesterday I launched a yoyo channel on YouTube but for some reason was hesitant to mention it here on the forum. After talking with a few respected folks on here I decided to go ahead and share it. Itās mostly oriented toward beginner-type stuff now, but I do plan to expand what I do with unresponsive yoyos and such going forward. The link is below if anyone is interested. Iām actively working on improving it (I do have some ideas that I am working on) and will welcome constructive criticism. Thanks in advance for checking it out if you do!
Oh! So you must be a hobbit then!?
Only the finest in The Shire for me!The hair on the top of my feet and knuckles of toes is the proof in the pudding!
A fire manipulating hobbit?! Unspeakable!
Must be them obnoxious āadventuresā you set off on with that old dark wizard fellow (not to be trusted here in the Shire I tell you! Never know what mischievous nonsense he drags with him!) and those hideously rude dwarven kind!
Continuing with the Pop Art and noticed I wasnāt getting the snap response I once was getting. Picked up some silicone grease today while I was out (had to do a quick Home Depot run) and while I need to get both sides of the bearing, it gives it a snappy response Iām looking for.
Now trying it in my other responsive throws that I had 4 wraps around the bearing to get to work rightā¦this stuff does wonders.
Update on the day - tried tackling that demon thatās been taunting me with skating and come to realize now that I really donāt feel safe skating in my neighborhood as the cracks were throwing me off and the roughness was rattling my brain. I can hit the occasional crack but thereās just too many to have to constantly dodge and weave around that I canāt just focus or enjoy the rideā¦I guess time to hit the park. Until then, I did find/rediscover the parking lot around the corner of my house that is glass smooth/blocked off from vehicles after hours that I can use as a personal rinkā¦that is until they say I canāt do that but the business owners know me/the family since I was little so I highly doubt theyād care. Heck, even the donut shop owners who share the lot didnāt care about us hanging out there playing Pokemon Go and using the pokestop there and walking around/riding skateboards in the lot.
Finally got a chance to watch a few of your videos. Good stuff Subscribed.
Edit: forgot to mentionā¦yep I agree, the Lyn Fury is still great!
Doing the last inventory Iāll ever do at my current job. Itās only current till Tuesday, then Iām into the unknown.
Thanks so much, man. I appreciate you taking the time to watch, sub, and share the compliment.
And glad you agree about the Lyn Fury! It is/was an amazing budget throw and still holds up nicely today.
Best wishes wherever the road in front of you leads. If you donāt see a road, grab a few crates of dynamite and make your own @$&*%} road!
Taco?
