Ooh we got bluegrass too. It’s old tho…
Listening to this now, for the first time. Love the cover of In Bloom!
Meta modern Sounds in Country Music might be my favorite album of all time.
Okay, you’ve sold me on Sturgill Simpson. It took me a little to see him for more than just a Waylon imitator, but his music is fantastic. Steeped in outlaw country, but fresh and original.
Outlaw country with lyrics that transcend into metaphysics. Of course Sound and Fury isn’t really country at all…
Makes me feel like it’s spring 1982 - late 1983 but with a twist. Yeah, I’m old…
Cool!
I gave Sound & Fury a couple of casual listens, and it didn’t resonate with me the way Metamodern and Cutting Grass did. I like the genre fine, it just doesn’t seem on the same level. It’s good, but not great. I’ll have to give it another try someday.
Listening to Sailors Guide to Earth now.
This album is an opus for his son. If you have kids it’ll pull tears from you eventually.
I had this on repeat while I built a house by myself. Really helped pull me through some physical and mental challenges.
Hades original soundtrack , ending of a “on the coast” track is gorgeous!
I’ve never heard anything quite like that! Folkjazzbluegrass? Not that it needs a convenient classification. I listened to it all the way through. Cool stuff.
Yeah not exactly sure how to classify bela fleck, but he is a wizard on a banjo
