Update on recovery. Been having some signs of internal bleeding and a hard recovery. Sorry to those I owe things or responses. I’ve spent allot if time on pain meds.
I’ve been documenting my stuff here but don’t click if you don’t want to see incisions and or bruising
Kids have also been sick. Daughter threw up after soccer game Saturday and son at school today and baby has been snotty and sick all weekend.
Wife is a super hero I don’t know how she does it when I get winded right now just cooking a meal. Doing dishes tonight made me hit the baby Tylenol and yea thats the only real liquid pain reliever that’s not a narcotic I can take.
I tried to be soccer coach Saturday and had to ask the other parents to finish the game out by half time. I just could hang and thankfully everyone in my life has been very understanding and supportive.
Hey dude! Congrats on the weight loss journey! Always love seeing people put their all in like this.
With the bariatric surgery, if you aren’t consulting one already, I think you should reach out to a dietician to have the best possible plan for nutrition in the future. Depending on the procedure done, it alters your GI system and can affect how your body absorbs and processes nutrients. Having a dietician to consult with can help prevent any malnutrition in the future.
Very true. I consulted a dietician 2 weeks prior and have an appointment two weeks after. I have atm just a goal of at least 60 go oz fluids and a protein goal of about 60g or more. Low carb clear liquid but honestly I’ve already experienced dumping symptoms from licking something that was full sugar so I’m very aware my body won’t tolerate sugar.
Honestly I don’t feel hungry at all and I’m only consisting on like 400 calories a day.
Not pre surgery I was on a liquid diet for two weeks and staying under a thousand calories was mentally and physically taxing. Also this diet long term for anyone is extremely unhealthy unless monitored by a dr. Some major side effects are my potassium and iron have significantly dropped to nearly needing IV fluids and a night in the hospital as I can’t absorb enough on my own. (Potassium is super important your heart is not a fan of running out of that)
I’ve been blood drawn nearly 3 times this last week and probably if I don’t end up back in the hospital due to some complications we have been monitoring I’ll keep that pace for a few more weeks. ( if I’m in the hospital they will draw blood daily and such)
All that to put a big disclaimer that this is hard and without medical and diet support an extreme diet change in your own can be extremely unhealthy and even potentially dangerous. A long time ago I tried a self concocted celery diet and only ate celery for weeks. Nearly ended up in the hospital that way and learned what fiber was real fast. Eating disorder and medically necessary diet can be borderline similar if not carefully monitored and adjusted and if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Thank you for sharing your journey and caring enough about us to want us involved and I love seeing the comments on here that really show that people here care about you too. Not me of course… but there are people.
I kid…
Hang in there brother and hopefully things get a little better each day.
Back in the hospital. Most likely getting a transfusion, definitely getting a ct scan and maybe a scope… if anything fluids with potassium and magnesium cause that’s getting super low too.
All to say I’m in high spirits and doing good just annoyed I’m back here today. My surgeon seems more worried than I am
