Using Bondo to fill scratches

Has anyone tried using Bondo to fill in deep scratches on their yoyo?

How did it affect the vibe?
Did it help or make it worse?

Im thinking about trying it on my old dv888, but a little nervous I’m going to mess it up even more.

Welcome to the forums! Show us some photos of those scratches that bother you so much. Unless they affect the way the the yoyo plays just consider them love marks.

Bondo might be more effort than it’s worth and/or make the yoyo feel weird. I read someone here mention pushing any raised aluminum down to make it smoother with a piece of steel. I’ve done that a few times since when I got a ding at a park, I’d just find a steel sign post or bollard and press the ding smooth as possible. I read a few people here mention sanding as well, but I’ve never tried that because I didn’t want to remove more ano than I may have already. I agree with you on not loving dings in my yo-yo though, which is why I have (mostly) indoor-only throws.
