Unpopular Yoyo Opinions

I have so many yoyos, because the “Prefect” yoyo doesn’t exist.

Yes to this. But also I feel it’s denser, and it “breaks in” better IMO

Fingernail Vibe is fine. The A-RT I have is straight up vibrating the string after making sure to smooth the yoyo out with my finger as good as possible.

It would be useful to know what A-RT models people seem to have vibe issues with.

For all I know everyone could be talking about problems with the same model but we could never know, since no one mentions specifics so it’s like the problem extends to the whole A-RT line or what?

I’ve had 7 A-RT (Grail x3, Sparrow, Life, Diptych, Quail) with very little problems in the way of vibe. Out of what I had, the Diptych had the most vibe, affecting grinds a bit too much for my tolerance, but it still wasn’t anything you could feel on the string. In general, I rate the machining of One Drop very highly, and they seem to do a great job on the A-RT throws but perhaps there is one A-RT design that has more problems with vibe??

My Quail is pretty vibey, more vibey than some b-grades i’ve owned. I don’t mind personally, love how it plays, but it’s probably going to effect value if I ever decide to sell it. :man_shrugging:

Quail is the one I have as well that’s got such bad Vibe.

looks like i’m playing the quail today, lol… mine was from the last drop (12/19ish, the wintergreen or whatever), and isn’t vibey… not ‘g2’ smooth lol, but nothing i would put into a bgrade category and smooth enough to pass a credit card test.

i’ve received 2 new yoyos with a nick though, lol…

That’s a shame about the vibey Quails. Maybe, like @fatguysnacks247 I’ve also got a better one, a frost blue/green one (teal, basically) that I’d say is 8.5/10 for vibe.

My 420 has a tiny string vibe, but im gonna contribute that to the extreme shape

My quail also vibes. Also had some news throws from them that came with a weird smell, and felt dirty. Not sure what got on to them… alcohol cleaned up fine though.

long string is fun.

short string feels like you are prohibited to have fun.

Short string is different. I used to feel similarly but the way that you can perform tricks with different string lengths has been intriguing me the past couple months

oh yeah short string is way more controlled but long is way more fun.

idk, not looking like you’re struggling to control the string is fun.

that’s why it’s “unpopular”.

The next one will be number zero, so I have a matched set.

I think I like the shorter string because it give me the ability to go fast. I also understand the long string thing. It gives you more room for tech. I think finding the balance of those two things is key. It needs to be short enough so you can intensify speed combos, but it also needs to be long enough to tech and body tricks. That is my goal at least.
