It’s possible! We need more big name string companies to have valid nylon options though, I feel like Kitty 1.5 is kinda… bad? I’m also with you that OD Long Cuts are kind of problematic. What other big / common / popular / bulk string companies have a good nylon option?
Horizon is better than Shutter. No, I hate that one
10 times better.
I’ve bern using thick wooly nylon for months now and I love it. However, it really does have some problems that regular poly does not have.
One big one is that it is so whippy and reacts strongly to tension that sometimes when the friction point to form a bind occurs a loop forms which hooks itself over the yoyo and into the gap, forming a knot.
I have noticed that nylon tends to coil up tighter than an Alabama Blacksnake. It’s annoying… I find myself having to de-tension (sorry, torsion, or whatever) the string like every throw.
Yeah, its elasticity is the culprit for this.

You must always lube your bearing or they will not last very long.
-
Lubing bearings is a waste of time. As a matter of fact the oil collects dust. I never lube my bearings, and they’ve all lasted for a million years.
-
Take the bearing shields off. They just trap dust, and make it hard to clean them out.
-
Always put your bearing shield back on. They were put on there for a reason. They keep the dust out of the bearing.
-
Leave one bearing shield off. That way you can still clean it, and dust can fall out of that side, but you still have 50% protection!

Kitty String is the best!
-
Kitty String is garbage!
-
Nylon strings are better than Poly in every respect.
-
Nylon strings just aren’t worth the extra cost.
-
Never ever put anything on your fixed axle string to “lube” it.
-
The only way to get consistent response with a fixed axle yo-yo is to put some wax on the string before changing it.
OK, that was more like “Eternal Debate”…
I think the reason why some CLYW’s feel the same is because a lot of there yoyos are signature yoyos, and most of the players on the CLYW team are techy players. But to me, CLYW’s all are unique and feel different from each other.
I do not think that you are quite getting the full Ti-Walker experience. You already knew the legend and to some extent, had developed lofty expectations that were likely impossible to fulfill.
As I noted in previous posts, buying the Ti-Walker was the BEST yo-yo buying experience I have ever had. Going in, I had no expectations other than it was titanium. From having no idea how how a titanium yo-yo would play; to the excitement of waiting to get one and then finally throwing it for the first time; is much like what a heroin addict would use to describe their first experience.
For me, all buying experiences have to be compared with this gold-standard. All subsequent experiences have yet to equal the happiness and fulfillment of that Ti-Walker purchase.
Yes it’s true I knew full well the legend of the TiWalker, but I also did not let it skew my expectations. I love it, it’s my favorite throw to pick up right now, but my point was that while it’s probably not the best performing titanium, I don’t think that should make anyone think anything less of it. I’m not gonna go around saying it’s the best yo-yo ever though, but I’ll tell you to get one!
the IYYC breathe is the best looking and playing yoyo to ever exist. (I’m memeing around BTW)
Gave me a headache…but it was like any other Forum day.
the fact that the float is light enough to attract moths
Alright, probably VERY unpopular opinions. Brace yourselves.
-Spiderweb tech is rediculously boring
-If you don’t know how to use them for competition worthy tricks, don’t bother buying $150 yoyos
-people see someone do a “Flowy” trick and assume it’s better than it is
-Wood is not good
-Just because a trick is a repeater does not mean that it is good or difficult
-Sheer performance of a yoyo is WAY more important than “the right vibe”
-high wall yoyos are whack
-some players are overrated (not naming anyone in particular, but you know, the ones who do an easy trick like the matrix, all “smooth and flowy” and some people think it’s the best thing ever)
Ooof, sorry. Had to get that off my chest
Ah, but buying yoyos you aren’t “worthy” of yet is a good idea if you really like a particular throw that is likely to become difficult to acquire later (which is the case for nearly all the really good ones that come out).
Right. Fill your toolbox with tools you may need.
yoyos are toys
Yo-yos are playable art
As much as I respect the skill of those who compete I personally find that I just can’t watch competition yoyo. It is always cringe inducing music and I just can’t follow what people are doing or it all comes over a bit clinical and lacking in soul.
