Yoyo opinions

I want to here peoples opinions on new old or any yoyos I will start with what do you guys think of the new outlier 5

I would say that it looks like Brandon and team put a lot of thought into the design and refinement.

Same but something just seems off about it to me for some reason.

I’d have to play it, but I will say that it doesn’t completely compel me to part with $150+, as much as I really enjoy Brandon’s personality and content

Same and I have his plastic cheatcode and i would say for a plastic yoyo it is super good nice and stable

It’s probably good. I do have to say that Brandon’s “The widest yoyo is the best yoyo” path seems…interesting to me.

I’m not even close to the level player that Brandon is so…I don’t know. But it’s an interesting take.

i bought one to support Brandon, but I will say its width is beyond the practical limit for me personally. I thought 50mm was too wide for my taste but i’ve slowly come around to it, however not fully sold on 50mm either lol.

What do you guys think of the molded-then-machined plastic yoyos? Is this the future of yoyoing? I get my Plastic Fulvia in the mail today.

nah. even the best plastics however they’re made are going to get dunked on by mid metal yoyos.

I think plastic hybrids could get bigger like the iceberg but I don’t think they are better than modern bi metals.

You should really like it, but don’t get worried when the bearing suddenly gets very loud lol. Both my Luftwerks have done this lol. They play very smooth, very satisfying.

I have a few machined plastics they are great! Would definitely buy more over molded plastic for sure.

Ok this might start some controversy but what are the opinions on the shutter line?

I mean it won a world championship so it can’t be that bad! That also being said some of them are kinda either outdated (e.g. the OG shutter) or meh (shutter elite and evo, at least in my opinion). The shwangle (shutter wide angle) is kind of a timeless design in my opinion, as is the JDS shutter.

Overall, good yoyos! As a C3 nerd though i prefer the Krown series for good starter monometals, or the yoyofriends Shortcut.

I think the shutter line seems kinds mid in my opinion compared to the new stuff coming out and I think the shutter elite might be a little to overrated. That said they still are very good yoyos I just think they aren’t as relevant anymore.

I have the plastic cheatcode and for a plastic yoyo it is really stable and smooth. The 53mm width is really catchable but it hinders me in some slack and tech elements. For finger spins it is really good but the plastic can get sticky at times but that might be because if the injection molded plastic. Over all good plastic yoyo :star2: :star2: :star2: :star2: 4/5 stars

it’s not the future of yoyoing, why? cuz it’s already in the present, it’s one of the way to manufacture a yoyo and the product made from that process is distinct enough from injection moulding

it’s the shutter, their slogan should be good at everything, master of none, of course it’s mid, all the stats are capped at 50, there are yoyos out there with 100 points in the comfort stat, but 0 speed

plastic cheatcode is bad in itself because of how heavy it is, but i use it to practice because of that, my main throw just felt lighter and faster
